YDC 80 Announcement

(Your Donation Counts)

Charity Auctions

24th – 28th August 2010

YDC charity auctions are held by the international eBid membership every month.
Our main aim is to raise as much money as we can, and have lots of fun along the way!
At the same time, we have a “friendly” competition to see which single auction raises the highest amount. The winning seller in this competition chooses which good cause to nominate for the following month’s competition.

As the winner of YDC79, Meebo1 has chosen:

http://adamsappeal.org/

as this month’s nominated charity.

Please come and join us with YDC80, everyone is welcome and -
YOUR DONATION COUNTS!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you would like to take part in the “competition” element of YDC80,
Please adhere to the following guidelines:
1) All auctions should have a start price of 99p (UK) or less.
For other currencies, please find an easy conversion chart here: http://www.xe.com/
2) No item listed should have an expected value of more than £20.00 (or local equivalent)
3) Your auction should not have a reserve price or Buy Now, and it should be a standard auction (ie: not “featured”, or have any extra enhancements)
4) Your auction should run for exactly 4 days.
5) Please list your item/s to start at any time on the 24th of August (in your country), and finish at the same time on the 28th. (Different time zones will be taken into account when establishing the “winner”).
6) Please put YDC 80 in the auction title.
7) Your auction/s must be hosted on eBid.net, and must NOT break eBid’s listing rules.
8) Your auction/s MUST be for a charity (or good cause) and you will need to add the following to your description:
This auction is an entry in the YDC80 charity auction competition. All money raised by this auction, will go to: Add the name of the charity/good cause here
9) You should not mislead bidders/ buyers. Please be truthful.
10) Please keep all shipping / postage charges at cost price.
11) PLEASE LIST YOUR AUCTIONS IN THE CHARITY AUCTION SECTION UNDER “YDC”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Also:

You may list AS MANY items as you wish.

You do not have to support the nominated charity, it can be any good cause of your choosing.

Please try to offer your auction/s to as many international destinations as you can.

Any questions? Please just ask.

And finally, a big thank you to Gothicina for our YDC logos
– these are free for everyone to use:

I put some odds and ends to one side for this months YDC, but I've put them in such a safe place that I can't find them anymore. Will have another scout around tomorrow.

Sounds like something I have done in the past, or maybe the near future.

Now that August 28 is here. it dawns on me to ask if the proceeds from YDC80 listings should be given directly to meebo1 rather than gifting my sold items' prices, to me and then to meebo. Or should they be sent somewhere else?

Signed, confused.

mimmies
28th August 2010, 09:10 PM
that is good question. Do we send a direct donation from paypal to Adam's Appeal? how does that work? i guess i should have asked this question before i listed lol

meebo1
28th August 2010, 09:19 PM
You can use this link to make a direct donation http://adamsappeal.org/
If you prefer you can send me a paypal gift payment (I'll send you a private message with my email) and I make one large donation at the end

bykimbo
28th August 2010, 09:23 PM
I'm telling my buyers they can either pay me, and I'll pass it on, or donate directly to the link Meebo's given, or add it to some other payment that's destined for that route... whatever suits!

28th August 2010, 09:55 PM
thank you meebo that is so great of you i will do just that
