  • Stamp rationing

    Hi Guys,
Just heard on the news that royal mail are starting to ration stamps as there has been an increase in sales prior to the massive price increase at the end of the month.
Some places have sold out and won't be getting any more until after the end of the month! I think post offices must have plenty but who knows?

I must admit I did think about buying some stamps for christmas cards!!!! Could be a big saving and it seems a lot of people have been buying a lot- don't blame 'em..
The PO seem to be getting wise tho so best get some tomorrow!

    Cheers Alan

Me too. I find that although I've got a purse full of 1st class and large letter stamps I still need to go to the post office and buy postage for the packets. Ooh hang on, I've just realised that 3 large letter make 1 packet - whoo hoo, well done Royal Mail

I just bought mine and found there's no charge for using a credit card so I used my cashback card

                Re: Stamp rationing

Noticed at work a big increase in stamp sales at CSD - I wonder why?

I must also stock up on LL stamps - thanks for the tip, Bill.

Later: Notice that no 2nd LL stamp books are available to order online:

                    Re: Stamp rationing

I think the rationing may be just the highstreet shops? surely if you went to a post office stamps would not be rationed there? (correct me if wrong)

                      Re: Stamp rationing

Yeah the PO seem to have plenty of stock, but I suppose a lot of people will buy from supermarkets etc.

May not seem the same panic buying issues as with the petrol!!!.

                      Cheers Alan

must admit Maple and I buy presentation packs of stamps at the auction, it works out at about 2/3 of face value of the stamps inside.... and if we are really lucky when we buy postcards there are packet of stamps hidden in the lot
