Does anyone know where I can buy a flavouring, syrup, extract or essence of Violets? I've seen some on the internet, but their the syrup that's used for milk shakes etc and the bottles are too big. I'm after something that I can use in baking / cooking that has a very potent flavour and I only need to add a couple of drops - same sort of thing I would do to say vanilla essence etc. If you can help, I'd be very happy. I've got hold of Lavender syrup and essence. The syrup is nice on vanilla ice cream. It also adds a nice subtle flavour to a mix of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. The amount you add depends on how strong a flavour you want and how much fruit you are adding it too. For a change - add lavender essence instead of vanilla to a sponge cake recipe.
