Mystery books about a parapsychologist

Is anyone else reading the Cree Black series by Daniel Hecht? I am on my second one (I did them out of order, though, and I'm now on the first book in the series, City of Masks).

They're about a parapsychology team that people hire to investigate and resolve disturbing psychic happenings. This first one is set in New Orleans.

I am listening to these on unabridged audio. I love audiobooks. I started by playing them when I was painting but then I found they were great too when you have mundane chores to do.
