What is the name of the cone shaped tool used to measure the size of rings?
Dennis
Originally they were a metal mandrel on which rings could be worked to size
I think the plastic versions may retain the name mandrel but is usually just called a size gauge by non-jewelers
Oh my! Jewel and Terry are smart!! Thanks for the new word for the day!!! Never knew what it was called...I would have said ring sizer!! Cool!!
"Mandrel" Thanks! I couldn't for the life of me remember what it was called. Calling something a "thing-a-ma-jig" really doesn't help in communicating does it?:D
Thanks again.
