Why are eBid promoting eBay sellers in their onsite advertising?
I truly cannot understand this but it doesn't help the thousands of sellers on eBid.

I clicked the ad to see where it led to - only to find it's promoting an eBay seller!

Are ads on eBay doing the same for eBid sellers? Well, we all know the answer to that question.
I'm also fully aware that I can turn off these ads and I chose not to.
So does the imminent new experience of a revamped site mean that eBid and eBay have become one and eBid's sellers can expect a plethora of buyers? Yes?
Okay eBid sellers, expect to be exceptionally busy and get those listings up, running and SELL, SELL, SELL!!! :):):)
Good profits to all.
Re: Why are eBid promoting eBay sellers in their onsite advertising?
This has cropped up before in the forums, and unfortunately it appears that eBid has little or no control over the ads that are placed.
Re: Why are eBid promoting eBay sellers in their onsite advertising?
What Kreative said; unfortunately, the ads are placed by Google and eBid doesn't have a lot of say in their content, though if I remember correctly, there was something said a while back in the forums about reporting offensive ads to eBid: support@ebid.net as I think they were allowed to block a certain percentage of the ads? I think that was the gist of it, not sure if I remembered this correctly or not, someone please correct me if I'm wrong, I frequently am. :)
Best wishes for many sales to all,
Re: Why are eBid promoting eBay sellers in their onsite advertising?
Selling advertising space on this site supports the business model of low fees for eBid sellers.
Advertisements for eBay appearing on the eBid site mean that eBay are helping to keep selling fees low for eBid sellers. So the other side of the coin is to say thank you to eBay for supporting the eBid site financially.
If sellers do not want such advertising, then they will have to be prepared to pay higher fees.
Once advertising space is sold, the advertising agencies decide which advertisements they place.

You could always click the offending links and cost them a few cents.

We are encouraged to report to ebid such ads - they can block them (But I like the clicking idea ;))

Must admit that eBid is the only site I allow ads on so I can click on them and earn eBid a bit of dosh. Hopefully that will trickle down to us in some way.
Re: Why are eBid promoting eBay sellers in their onsite advertising?
I do block the ads out... but if I am making a purchase online from a shop then I will switch the ads on and try and get the item advert to appear on eBid - then click through and purchase.

How does a person block / allow ads?

I believe that if you click the No box on the eBid to upload to GS in your My eBid/My Defaults, this stops the ads but I may be wrong.
