The pump went on my machine. I was able to make it limp along a bit longer by getting a bloke with a hammer to thump it a bit, but after a couple of goes it died completely so said bloke bought a replacement pump and did a refit. Sorted it a treat.
Re: HI guys any one know about washing machines.
check the drain and make sure its draining
it is belt driven pump?
if so check if belt is slipping under load [when its pumping]
if its not slipping then the pump is going kaput.
Re: HI guys any one know about washing machines.
Also make sure a sock or ? isn't hung up.

Don't forget the motor bushes - They wear out; but for those in the know they are quick and easy to replace.
Symptoms of worn bushes include not spinning. or completing cycle. ;)
Re: HI guys any one know about washing machines.
Last time that happened to me it was the filter that had got blocked up. I managed to drain the machine manually by taking the tube out of the waste pipe and using gravity to drain it into a bucket. After removing the sopping clothes I cleaned out the filter which is usually a little trap door near the base of the machine. Found all sorts in there a paper clip, 5p coin, 1 cent euro, plus lots of fluff ! After putting it all back together it worked fine. Hope it might just be this and not the pump going.

Hi doggiemad, just love your avatar of the black shepherd. I have two, both black.
Well now, I have had exactly the same problem with my washing machine.
When the repair bloke came, he inspected all the parts to the washer, but it wasn't the washer that was at fault - it was the drain pipe from the sink!
You know - the U-bend thingy - well, it was partially clogged up with all kinds of stuff, so he took the pipe off, cleaned it all out, and the washer was then able to do it's job properly. Beforehand, it didn't drain properly, or rinse properly - the clothes were just as you say, sodden and soapy. If your washer is plumbed into the same outlet as your sink, as mine is, check out the U bend to see if there is an obstruction. Hope this helps!
Re: HI guys any one know about washing machines.
My Mom's washer got clogged a while back, it was the outside pipes clogged up with tree roots. My Dad dug up the roots, no problems since. The filter gets clogged on her machine, too, from time to time.
Best wishes for many sales to all,

Thats funny. Next time I need an elbow for a drain I'm gonna ask for a Ubend thingy just to see the expression.
