Any good ideas for flowers that are slug-proof?

I'm wanting to put some new flowers out in the garden. The glads that I put out don't like it here too much.........too much wind and rain. I've tried AFrican daisies - work great, calendula - ok, love-in-the-mist - ok, zinnias - awful, marigolds-awful, mums - awful, daisies - ok, but get eaten, wall flowers - fine, stock-failure, hollyhocks- fine, foxgloves-fine, lupin---fine as long as I put copper tape around the base and kill the aphids with soapy water.

I'd like to put some annuals out. Begonias were ok, but didn't attract the bees and butterflies, which is part of what i want to do. I like things blooming at different times. We have a lot of flowering bushes, and some perennials....but I'd like some annuals that will be big, bright, and the bees and butterflies will like, and the slugs will ignore. I don't put slug bait or pesticides in the garden, so need some ideas....thanks!:D

Treat the slugs to a booze up - old yoghurt pots or the like, sunk in ground with beer in and a rock, stone or saucer over the top.

Try some Bizzy Lizzies? Ageratum? Convolvulus? Gaillardia? Godetia? Lobelia? Phlox? Rudbeckia? Petunia?
I have some slugs too (yet to get drunk & drown) but they don't bother these plants.

Slugs and snails ate my petunias - the ones not in the hanging baskets on the clothesline. Bizzy Lizzies I might try again. Lobelia....maybe if I didn't try to start from seed....planted several thousand seeds last year not one plant. Have about 3 phlox, and the slugs like them. I will look the the others, as I'm not familiar with them. I also had about 8 of the slug traps with beer or sweetened yeast water set around the yard...that worked well, but this is a big place and they come in from all directions!!!

Astral.......thanks for the link.....I checked it out, copied the list, and will look further. I have quite a few of those, and a lot of those are perennials.

I'm looking for things that are going to make a splash of color............and give me some good photo opps, too. I'll go look up the various plants I'm not familiar with that you both suggested now.....thanks! We just didn't have slugs in Colo and I'm tired of providing the local all-you-can-eat Salad Bar for the little critters.

Geraniums! I forgot those - and it's time to plant seeds too!

BTW - butterflies attracted to geraniums and you will probably get babies nibbling the leaves but not the flowers, but what the heck!

I could buy some geraniums......I know they do well here. Poppies take so long to get started, and don't bloom very long....we have some.

I know this is an old thread now but try sprinkling play sand around the base of plants. it doesnt wash away like slug pellets and wont harm wildlife, event he slugs and snails wont be harmed... they will just move on as they dont like anything that sticks to them!
