Re: YQ2012 Yukon Quest 1000 mile dog sled race
Wow, just amazing! I had a neighbor in upstate NY who used to raise sled dogs and competed in sled races. The weirdest (and coolest) part was the dogs themselves, he must have had at least fifty of them and each one was different looking, some looked more like dogs while some others looked (to me anyhow) more like wolves. It was the neatest thing to watch him train his dogs, thanks for bringing this back for me. :)
Best wishes for many sales to all,

The iditarod is an Alaskan race that also runs 1000 miles but from Anchorage Alaska to Nome Alaska. This race starts in 24 days from today.
The Official race site can be found here:

Re: YQ2012 Yukon Quest 1000 mile dog sled race
It is a very demanding race on both the musher and the dogs. My older sister did the Yukon Quest years ago. It was a very cold winter and I remember how worried my mother was. Sister had some problems with her dogs but she did complete the race and beat half the guys. Finished mid pack. I always knew my sister was tough. :D
The Alaskan Iditarod is more well known.
