looking at a new idea.........tell me what you think
hi there,
i make candles from different shape moulds, colours and scents and wanted to run something past you
i was thinking of doing some auctions on a made to order basis
i wanted to like say all scents
all my moulds and all my colours
then advertise the auctions as pick your own....
i was think 4 wax tarts
6 wax melts
i do mini butterfly moulds, mini roses and
mini teddy bear (thinking of doing these as 10's)
so people could eg say 5 teddy bear /blue /baby powder and 5 butterflies /red /cut grass
so i could do an action for pick your own wax tarts 4
pick your own wax melts 6
and pick your own mini melts 10
what do you think to this idea and have them as 3 running auctions just put them up at once and then when they go just relist them as a BIN
please give me your honest opinion.
All my scents and colours and moulds are on the all about me page
thank you in advance
catherine
Re: looking at a new idea.........tell me what you think
I would do with a BIN as well so that if somebody wants an item quickly, maybe as a gift they can get them immediately. And as there are not as many bidding wars on eBid have a reasonable start price, maybe one where you will at least break even. I might also be tempted to stagger the auctions, if not you are competing against yourself, so maybe do 9 day auctions and start a new one every 3 days, that way you will always have a listing close to the top of the results on eBid and if you have a BIN will always have at least 2 showing on Google.
You could also play around with titles on the listings to see what gives you the best results.

will you have a look at what i have done and let me know if ihave made any errors please
Re: looking at a new idea.........tell me what you think
Sorry, but I am confused about your listing - do I buy the mould and then put wax in the mould? or do the candles come in the shape of the mould? It might need clarifying for people like me. Perhaps a lit example of what you might get???
Choice of scents and colours are great!

is that any better,i am a novice at this and am really grateful for any feedback
thank you catherine

And for bigger ignoramus's like me, just what precisely does one do with a melt?
A candle with a wick I understand.
A drawer scenter I also understand.
But a melt? In what? Water? By itself in a dry oil burner with a candle below?
Re: looking at a new idea.........tell me what you think
Hi there Catherine, your auctions are fantastic. Very appealing!
I just sooo love your baby stuff, sure wished I had seen them earlier, when I was shopping for my kid sis's new baby.
How's about doing larger sizes for the tots?
Also - with regards to your wax melts - are they soy wax or paraffin?
With the health scares associated with the burning of paraffin wax I think you could boost your sales if you advertise that they are environmentally friendly soy wax if you use soy.
Just an idea, and I wish you great success with all your sales. You have the 'get up and go' attitude which I am sure will attract buyers -
I am in love with your beautiful little hand knitted items - I shall be watching to see what else you have listed .... they are truly lovely, and so well presented, reasonably priced too.
So glad you are here, keep up the good work, and well done so far!

Water? ..... eek, no! It's wax!
By itself in a dry oil burner with a candle below Yes ... that's it!
