Just curious, what did I do wrong now ?
I received an email that said my auction was pulled because it violated the rules. I'm not even sure which auction but I believe it was a group of UK coins. I posted them under World Coins and then Under UK. They have been on for months because that is how long it has been since I sold anything. Could somebody that knows this system better than myself explain what I did that was wrong so that if I list anything else I will not mess up and upset the powers that are ?
Sorry and Thank you,
Jack

Since the auction was pulled, I'm not sure anyone on the forums can check it and let you know the issue. If you contact support@eBid.net they can probably give you the reason.

Hurry's right..give support a jingle to get the answer.

Please , I am trying very hard to understand ! I reviewed the email , and I quote,
The above listing has been removed because it Contravenes our listing Policy.
Reason(s). Auctions MUST be placed in a relevant Category.
I listed these coins in ,Coins & Banknotes , World Coins, UK Coins. The item is a group of 12 various UK coins.
Am I stupid or something ? I honestly do not understand and I did contact Support for an explaination and help.

Is it possible you had the coins in the Banknotes subcat by accident?
You have Swedish, French and Italian coins in the Banknotes sub cat as well, should this perhaps be in the Coins subcat?

I received an email from eBid support today. They said that ther re-installed the auction. That one of our " Gun carrying' members reported me so they removed it and after they received my message they actually looked at the listing and I had done nothing wrong so they relisted it.
Thank you eBid support !
To the Member with all the time on your hands that you can be the " eBid Sherriff" , get a hobby, try Coin Collecting !
The rest of you, Thank you for the support !

Well said Jack, too many ebid unofficial "sheriffs" on here. Leave the Ebid powers that be to do their job which they do very well. All of us who list honest and open auctions and BIN and try and make a sale (By God it is hard enough) do not need to be policed by third parties when we are doing nothing wrong.

I think we do need to be able to point out poor listings.
Without Sherrifs the site could descend into anarchy. Ebid support do not have time to check every auction!
I mean a bank note is not a coin and vice versa.
But I also think that ebid need to be more responsive and they should have moved the items for you, and then advised you.

I agree Julie,
i would also like to add that it concerns me if items are auto removed after just one users report, which looks to be the case here.
I believe there should be some form of punishment for false or mistake reports, 3 strikes per year then a time ban for example. it would help stop it from being abused and has the added affect of reporters needing to double check before reporting.
I understand this could put people off reporting which is important so perhaps there could be some sort of incentive for members to report bad listings like a 0.1 buddy point per report.
