Our free membership offer to US citizens is exactly as stated, a free lifetime membership, after this offer reaches 10,000 takers, there will a recurring 30, 90 or 365 day security subscriptions options and one off lifetime security subscription option open to all new members wishing to sell items (upgrading to Silver status). Users making bids can still remain at Bronze level if they wish.

They way things are going, we will have 10,000 in place before the launch of us.eBid. All users taking up the offer will be emailed the day before lauch with a URL to visit to sign to eBid.
