Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
eBid will be going down for a backend software update work at 7am GMT (7am London, 2am New York) on Monday 7th Dec.
We should be donw for just a couple of minutes while we install our latest software update.
The update will include a move over to a single domain and a few design changes also.
Thanks,
Gazza
Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
Managed to do the update with only a few seconds downtime. There's currently a problem with some links on the "Sell" page which we are fixing.
Any other problems please let us know. This is a major technical update behind the scenes so we' d appreciate you all keeping an eye out for possible glitches.
Thx.
G.

We've been notified of a problem when accessing eBid using the Google Chrome browser extension "HTTPS Everywhere".
It is currently causing a problem with our image upload page when listing a new item.
A fix is being worked on as we speak.

Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
We'll be taking the site offline for around half an hour on Saturday at around 0700 GMT (0700 LONDON, 0200 NEW YORK)
The site will be undergoing some updates to the base code and database to enable us to show larger versions of pictures when available.
Thx,
Gazza
Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
eBidders with an @btinternet.com email address are having emails bounced back to us currently.
We are investigating the problem as we speak.

Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
Our email server is being upgraded at the moment and we have diverted to our backup email server. Users may have experienced a 10 minute gap today where password update emails were not being sent out.
Please feel free to try again now, all should be working fine again.
Thanks,
Gazza
Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications

Everything should be back to normal now.
Apologies for any errors you may have encountered.

Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
It seems Amazon S3 is currently having problems.
S3 is a very large part of the internet which hosts photos and websites.
Our website is not hosted with them luckily but our photos are which is why you will be seeing empty spaces where photos should be.
We will keep you up to date when we know more.
