If a seller lists an item from brand x, and that brand is not in the eBid system, could it then be auto added?
This issue happens a lot to me, and would be good if this could be worked on.
Yesterday, I was amazed when listing the amount of brands that are still not in the database, I don;t understand why they cannot just be added once a seller takes the time to add brand name.
Some from yesterday that were not in the database were
Sellotape
Beaphar
Bushnell
Tressemme
Trixie

Must admit that, due to the oddities of what brands were present and what were missing, I thought that the brands listed were those recognised by Google Shopping. I didn't realise the list was created by eBid.

I just presumed (righly or wrongly) that it was done by eBid.

You may be right - I don't know. As said, I just assumed it was tied to Google Shopping' s recognised brands (if they have such).

Re: Search Improvements : Brand names, abbreviations, misspellings
One I thought of is:
Air Wick (correct brand name)
airwick (common misspelling of it)
That said, why don't you automatically exclude spaces while searching? This way, it would auto find stuff like this without having to maintain a list.
For instance, if someone enters "Air Wick", auto search for "airwick". In that search, only start to match words that begin with a, when found, try i in second letter and skip to next word if instead you find a space then repeat for remainder of letters. Once you find the k on the end, it's a match as long as that word is followed by a space. That way, a search for "Air Wick" or "airwick" would find those but exclude a match of "airwicking".
Another improvement would be to apply the same search rules for seller's item search as you use for the item search. For instance, on the search customers use to find items putting - before a word will exclude any listing that contains that word in its title. However, on the seller's own search of items he has for sale or sold the - before a word does not exclude those which match that word.
Re: Search Improvements : Brand names, abbreviations, misspellings
If the search "keyword" database is based off of some list, I have tons of keywords that will be needed to be added, just for my stores (as well as a couple of others I have seen here. If such is the case, I'll start a list.

I'd like to see the option to upload an image using my camera, I can't use this site because I don't have a pc, it's quicker i think if i could take a pic of item i want to sell,
