Thanks to all who participated. Looks like it's died a death now that we've met the target. That'll teach me to set my targets higher in future :)
I'm a little dismayed that there are so few bargain hunters on here right now but this simply reflects what I have thought all along - we need plenty of bargains and we need to invite more buyers, which fits in very nicely with my 2008 Cyberdosh Challenge, thank you very much :)
Doesn't look like we'll be making it to 100 votes anytime soon, so let's look at what we've got so far....
One and a half times as many chatters come into the forums than bargain hunters and there are more than ten times the number of sellers than there are bargain hunters. The lowest useage of the forums is by bargain hunters (just over 6%), so this proves that there is no point wasting time promoting here unless you want other sellers to buy your items, but I think this fact had already been established.
On a different note, I have adequately demonstrated to myself that only frustrated sellers or non-sellers frequent these kinds of forums. In a similar survey elsewhere, only a tiny, tiny minority of the respondents were sellers and, had they completed this particular poll, the majority would have voted 'none of the above'. The main reason for this? They're in the auctions for stuff they can't (or won't) buy over the counter in their local high street stores or to make some extra chat buddies.
My findings are conclusive enough for me.... spend LESS TIME reading forums, evenless time responding to them and spend MORE TIME providing for bargain hunters.
Whilst on the subject of polls... we're only 18 short of 100 for this one :)
