Everyone does have a different style and preference on how they want to handle the tally thread. Are we sure we want to dictate how they do it rather than leave it up to the individual?
Jan, who is this chairperson you speak of?
You are the chairperson :D

I'm don't mean to put anyone off. Just raising some additional questions for consideration. Sorry that has caused you to take offense.
If you have been a bookkeeper for more than one company, then you know there is more than one system that works.
Perhaps I misunderstood your original suggestion or I'm being dense. I don't feel offering guidelines or suggestions is the same as rules ... maybe it's just me.

Is that for each individual seller to use to report their sales or for the tally summary?
Re: YDC Rule Review Part III
I would object to the amount i paid being shown. my generosity or lack thereof, should be private. the amount i bid on is ok, just not what i paid. i would drop being a buyer if this were enforced.
Re: YDC Rule Review Part III
I also would prefer if the seller just reported the total donated, rather than the individual amounts. And if the buyer pays the charity direct or the 'collector', just tell the seller how much you are sending so (s)he can do it. Hope that makes sense
Re: YDC Rule Review Part III
I went ahead and deleted my 'tables' posting. Doesn't seem to be popular.
I get the feeling people want to keep things as they are.

That's how I do it, and will continue to do so. We don't need to know what each individual buyer has paid/donated; just the amount for each charity from each seller.

I always make it clear on my total if the buyer has paid direct to the person running the tally.

Yikes, I'm sorry if I've been causing offence all these years ! I've always reported individual amounts paid from buyers to show that their total has been included correctly, and everybody used to do that years ago, otherwise how do buyers know if the total you are quoting is correct ? I don't show what any top ups were though, just the total amount sent from each person.
Re: YDC Rule Review Part III
I regularly got confused as to who posted what and so on so I included a note in THIS TALLY THREAD and that made things a lot simpler for me
