Meebo, I believe that this is a Great Horned Owl.
I haven't seen owls in the wild, (only one snowy one) but my dear husband has seen plenty. He grew up on a farm in northern Alberta.

I really enjoy these webcams as I like to watch birds anyway.
We have an osprey nest in our local park and I wish that there was a webcam on that pair. :-)

Awww, E6 went paddling for the first time today. Shame the camera wasn't a bit more focused but still lovely to see him jumping around and pouncing on sticks !

I saw him becky, wasn't it lovely. they was also a beautiful little wood pecker in the nest at one time for a while having a peck about and i believe there was one in one of the other trees as well but didn't see that one.
