Huge chunk of change, especially considering that most ads are 60 seconds! Can you imagine what the budgets are of huge companies that we see ad after ad every night are?

We dont really need TV viewers, we need internet users.
Direct links from ISP's front pages would be more effective (and cheaper).
But would PayPal play along - like how much of a cut would they take (I know, mean as sin I am)
There's probably a condition that you must pay the full ammount through Paypal so they get their 3.4%+20p as usual.
The title of this thread is a bit misleading,it should be
"Ebay wont allow you to charge postage so you have to add it to the item cost, the reason they do it is to claw back more fees and make it a bit more via paypal as well.
Withe maybe the sub title "Ebays buyers aren't as daft as they think and know there is no such thing as free post"
As for TV,spread the word yourselves via forums, web sites etc etc,There's no such thing as free advertising on TV,if ebid do it (and I doubt it will make a scrap of difference to sales) we'll pay for it.
I have bought several books this week from 3 different sites...2 sites charge 'postage inclusive' prices and the other charges a fixed price for postage on books sold by marketplace sellers....I am really puzzled at why there is so much fuss about having to include the cost of the postage in the final price of items on eBay.
I almost always buy books from the 2 sites I used this week where the postage cost is inclusive and I also sell on both sites.
My daughter used to list a lot of books at 99p - ie free listing. Now they charge her 10p a book - and they take the fvf on the whole amount, not just the price of the book - the pennies really add up. Needless to say she is moving after the Xmas/NewYear period...
