Thanks Kim, it was my mistake. I had locked each one and when the delete function did not show an error I assumed it went through. You know what they say about assume; it makes an........ Working with computers I should have known better.
I have deleted all the old ones now.
Thanks for the thread Magnets, I would never have known about the multiples had you not pointed it out. Cheers!
Re: Was just having a browse
I think the main reason why some members have multiple plug threads (usually 24hrs apart) is because other members advise (on different forums) that you can plug an auction every 24hrs but omit to say you can only have 1 thread running to which you can update it every 24hrs and if you start a 2nd thread, you must delete the 1st thread. Plus, it would help if members give a link to the plug rules such as: Plug Your Auctions Rules

Advanced Search. Search for threads started by you in the Plugs forum.

Hmmm...must have been 5 and not 6.
Not casting stones - I had two running from ages back.
Maybe eBid could do a cull every so often for threads that are, say, over 6 months old? While there is possible value in old threads in most forums, those in the Plugs forum lose all value after a time. My two were for items sold ages ago.
Re: Was just having a browse
Would have thought after 24 hours not many gonna look after 1st page, unless you cant get to sleep.
Re: Was just having a browse
It's also possible to identify duplicates by visiting the 'Plug' thread and then clicking on the 'Thread Starter' column heading to give an alphanumeric list (there are multiple 'offenders' ;)).
This only became a problem 2-3 years ago when a few members started plugging items several/multiple times per day. As other people have mentioned it's only really the first page of the thread that gets any attention (if at all). The rules were introduced to preserve that 'advantage' so "we" only have "ourselves" to blame for them.

Afraid I have become rather disenchanted with helping eBid 'police' the site. While I am aware that the decision on what is allowed and not allowed rests with them, they too often ignore reports of unambiguous breaches - pornographic images on the site being a prime example (No, I'm not giving links).
Have now decided it is not my place, and don't bother reporting such listings, e-commerce links, or anything else that breaks their supposed rules.

Example... I had a plug in there placed a few days ago.
It would have still been on page 2 - but was knocked down to the middle of page 3 because several people had several live plugs.
(not that I believe the plug forum does that much good in the way of sales - I only use it occasionally)
Thanks to the seller cellar….you can post one thread for about advertising your items in 24 hours but I think will not ‘’survive’’ on the first page and sometimes even on the second page because threads for social stuff likes: seller cellar, over half a million…, this two has about staggering 36,700 replies in the last year or two…and top of that ‘’the kitchen table’’ comes up and anyone new thread about ‘’real help, advertising, questions about auction site and items will ‘’go away’’ in archive that fast you’re not believe…will end up in third page a best or just not exist in the last day or two from new threads…so new members usually never will see that much real auction stuff in here…is just my opinion and anybody can say anything but if anybody count how much we all together post in here social stuff against real auction stuff will see staggering differences between numbers of posting threads…and as I say many times new potential members watch this carefully…and most of new members comes from eBay and usually most of members don’t use social stuff on eBay and comes in here for selling and buying…if social stuff mix with that auction stuff much more believe me many potential new members will go away…and ‘’usually’’ eBid threads keep alive only old members who post 80% social stuff…so ‘’magnets’’ you like me or not doesn’t matter but you can ‘’again’’ advertise your items in here but if you check again status of your new thread in the last 24 hours or 48 hours believe me you will NOT find it anymore anywhere close where you left that your thread…AMEN…..
P.S. Personally for me and my items ‘’plug your auction’’ works for me and my items most of time is sold from that my thread…

Right i over posted in plug your auctions and i got suspended for 2 days and 1 point assesed against me. rule if im correct is 1 post a day and if you start a new one you must delete the old one right? not have 30 different post becouse there is 30 days 1post then you can reply [pimp] to you plug to move it up.on the next day wich would count for 1 plug
