The Charity I have chosen for YDC 99 is ‘Children Today’..... giving children with disabilities a brighter tomorrow.
Children Today is the Charity that raises funds to provide specialised equipment for children and young people with disabilities throughout the UK.
Their aim is to ensure that every disabled child and young person fulfils their potential and leads an active childhood.
They rely totally on voluntary donations, they receive no funding from the government or social services.
There is no statutory right for young people with disabilities to be provided with the vital equipment that they need by the government or NHS, so this charity helps to fill that gap.
Equipment can include wheelchairs, walking frames, tricycles and other mobility aids, as well as communication aids, multi-sensory equipment and other information technology.
Children Today provides this service for children and young people right up to the age of 25.
As my husband works with people with learning difficulties, I have met up with both his clients and their families, and often wished that we could do more to help.
This is my chance.
I do so hope that you will all agree that this is an admirable and worthy charity to support.
Okey dokey kiddiwinks. Your auntie Gill is here and will be listing lots of items for everyone to bid on for you.
Can someone please make it rain to keep me out of the garden?

So - al, start your listing at $2.00 and you will be set.....not entered in the competition.
Re: At last! Here is the charity for YDC 99!
Those of you who have been around the YDC for awhile will remember we had an eBid t-shirt that was signed by the winning bidder and relisted each time. The winning bidder was not expected to keep it and once a new member bought and kept it but was chastised so she relisted it the next round. Soooooooooooooo I would think what is being proposed would work as long as it was made clear in the description. Most who are bidding on things for charity just want to help the charity.

Great choice Trish. It's a charity that I have donated to quite a bit myself in the past so only too happy to help again. http://www.pic4ever.com/images/128fs318181.gif

I have an email from support saying they will offer a t-shirt for YDC99 - I have to list it. It's just a thought but if I ask the team at eBid towers to sign it we could start the t-shirt bidding again.
Vonz, what do you think?
