New Buyers Are Finding eBid
I just made another sale, and noticed something when I brought up my panel "Auctions I've Sold." I leave them up until I get our records updated. Of the 19 sales still there, all except one were to BRAND NEW eBid members!
It seems eBid's strategies are working, at least for sellers of collectibles like me and my daughter (we both list in our stores). People ARE finding our items. And buying. :)

Re: New Buyers Are Finding eBid
eBid is promoting / sharing a lot of listings on Google +. I've noticed that some of the listings for stamps that I've been hitting the + 1 on are your stamp listings.

Re: New Buyers Are Finding eBid
I've made 2 sales since Sunday, both new members to eBid and one of them was from France.
Something seems to be working :)

I also have had 2 new buyers since Sunday, both UK

Re: New Buyers Are Finding eBid
9 of my sales this month have been to newbies.
-
Re: New Buyers Are Finding eBid
Two more sales . . . both to new members who paid immediately.
There were two other sales to a new member . . . eBid blocked them. When I looked at the emails I saw why, obviously a teenager playing games (silly street address, non-existant city, etc.) so I'm glad to see support is being vigilant. It does show, however, that people are finding the site!

Re: New Buyers Are Finding eBid
My last 5 buyers have been newbies. When I sell on the other side I include a flyer directing them here where they can save money on their next order (I obviously sell cheaper here than on the bay)
-
Re: New Buyers Are Finding eBid
With the exception of something I sold today, my last 3 buyers have been newbies

I am waiting on some business cards to be delivered, going to include them in my sales from 'other places' too.. :-)
I have attached a preview, you might not be able to make it out but on the left I have listed the addresses of my eBid stores and on the right uploaded a little eBid logo, let me know what you think..
Cheers

... and hopefully more new eBidders to arrive soon . Ebay are increasing their charges AGAIN next month - only 20 free listings a month, then 35p every time. Not forgetting their 10% closing fee including postage cost. Lots of complaints on their message boards!

Re: New Buyers Are Finding eBid
I'd like to stop selling on Ebay, because it's getting too expensive, and just use Ebid. I'm just a basic seller here at the moment, largely because I'm not sure if it's worth paying the cost of upgrading. The reason I say that is because I haven't sold anything on Ebid yet despite many attempts. Not only that but, unlike on Ebay, my items get virtually no views. What's the general experience here compared to Ebay?
-
Re: New Buyers Are Finding eBid
It's very different - you have 6 listings running - and not nearly enough words in the titles - what year of Rover do these parts fit for example.
Those who do best here list many items, set them to autorelist (you have to upgrade for this) and follow the advice as is scattered about the forums and here
http://www.mootango.webspace.virginmedia.com/ebidkb.htm

Re: New Buyers Are Finding eBid
My listings do in fact do state what year Rover these parts are off. As for the words in the title, I think they are adequate - a search for Rover 25 brings them all up, so anyone looking for anything Rover 25 related will find them without a problem.

Nicely done! I like the red, very eye catching. :)
Best wishes for many sales to all,

We will agree to differ.

I'm in the same boat as you but I'm in the U.S. and that makes it worse I think. I've had some listings up for over a month and haven't sold anything. A few people have been looking at them but that's about it. I hate it but they would have all sold in a week on ebay. I tried this place a few years ago and couldn't sell anything then so I figured I would try it again. Same thing, no sales. I'm not a store or anything. I'm just a person trying to sell some old stuff I don't use anymore. Ebay has thousands of listings for the type of thing I am trying to sell. There are not many here at all. I think I'm going to have to give it up again shortly. I sure wish it would have worked out. Not enough people looking here.

To be quite honest if I was a prospective customer of yours and saw that you had no feedback and then read on your about me page, and I quote :- This is a joke. I tried this place once before over a year ago and couldn't sell anything. Since I hate Ebay, I thought I'd give it another try. I've had 9 D&D items listed here for over a month to buy know or make an offer. Not a bite from one person yet. They would have all sold on Ebay in 5 days. What a waste of time! I'm afraid I wouldn't be buying with that negativity !
There are sales to be made here, I had 29 in April, but you can't just sit back and twiddle your thumbs like on the other side because there is not the ready made audience being a smaller site. If you are serious about selling here then read all the helpful tips on the forums and adapt your selling techniques to make eBid work for you. The other alternative is to pay the high fees elsewhere ! If you opened a shop in a shopping mall you wouldn't just sit there and expect a flood of people to charge in when you first open the door, you would be doing a nice window display and doing promotions and advertising. I hope you can adapt and start selling here.

I looked on the other site & not many of them are selling there & the ones that do sell are selling for less then you have them listed here.

A good idea Anne, I read it a couple if days ago, I can't afford the cost of business cards, so I made similar on my PC and printed to clip on to my hand written payment slips on TOS, much better than a hand written note. :)
This is what mine look like, sorry about the poor quality photo.

I agree with Cornishmaid, I read your about me page last night, and hit the 'Back' button...not that I could have purchased anything as I'm in UK, but you don't know how many potential buyers are reading that and hitting the Back button.

Re: New Buyers Are Finding eBid
I'm finding Ebid disappointing. I've been a member for quite a while but have never done much. Got even more fed up with Ebay so I thought I'd try again. Put a few things up for sale, but it looks to me like I'd have more chance of selling ice cream at the North Pole. I then bought two items: first arrived ok but the second didn't. The seller has disappeared, and taken my money with him. I now have to make a claim via Paypal - Ebid hasn't been much use.

I just checked out one of your items - a book. You have in listed under Cars & Vehicles > Classic Cars > Austin
As it is a book, try listing it under Books, Comics & Magazines > Non-Fiction > Automotive
Hope this helps

Jan is right about the category. That is quite a rare book and you have listed at a good auction price but to get it featured on Google Shopping where a lot of the eBid trade comes from you need a buy it now price too along with the auction price. Put as many key words in the title as you can too, for example 'hardback book'
If any of your listings don't have a bar code or ISBN then you need to put the word 'Exempt' in the bar code box to get them onto Google.
It always helps sales to have gallery photos too. The more you can list and the more you can shout about selling on eBid on social media the better. Remember eBid have kept their fees at rock bottom prices for us so it's up to us sellers to do some advertising.

I can't list a buy it now price, can I, without paying the £49 or whatever? I can also only put one picture up. I agree that I would do better with a buy it now price, and more pictures, but I don't feel inclined to pay for full seller membership until I can see that it's worth it - a bit chicken and egg I suppose. As regards the category, I thought it would attract those interested in Austin Sevens where it is..

Sorry I didn't check your status, as an ordinary seller you won't be able to get the thumbnail photo but I think you can put a buy it now price on as far as I know ? Have a check on the help pages on the black bar at the top it should tell you in the selling section.
It's up to you on the category but I think myself I would put it in the rare books section. Good luck anyway.

Yes, you can list as buy it now - using the platinum option - I have now done this, and changed the category. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestions.

Close my account, delete my intellectual property- the 55 listings I spent several hours putting in last night, and issue a refund for the disputed amount below.........
Instead of .Ranting and Raging on multiple threads you should contact eBid support using the following form.

seems to me your a little impatient, perhaps we should ask the unasked question is there a reason your account was blocked ? perhaps you entered some wrong details, why would you want to bad mouth this site i think thats just nasty
