Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
We've had a gateway server go down on us this afternoon. We're up and running on backup servers but some users with ISPs that do no refresh their name servers frequently may have problems connecting over the next hour.
Virginmedia in the UK is recognising the changes immediately.

Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
Anyone who downloaded the eBid Spreadsheet within the last 24hrs (v20130928) should download the new version (v20130930) with corrected column layouts.
Old versions of the spreadsheet (pre v20130928 without the Dispatch Time and Return Policy columns) will still work but users should start to use the 2 new fields as soon as possible.
Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
Latest Google Chrome update v30 is causing a problem with our WYSIWYG editor on the listing form currently.
Working on a fix.
Please use the Plain HTML Box editor, a non-upgrade version of Chrome, or another browser such as Firefox, Safari, Opera or Internet Explorer.
Thanks,
Gazza
--UPDATE 10:01GMT (11:01 LONDON 06:01 NY) OCT 4TH--
We will be upgrading our WYSIWYG editor from a very old version to the latest version.
We have held off upgrading for a number of years due to a previous upgrade causing some users to complain that their description html was being cleaned too much by the new version. That upgrade then was downgraded back.
The upgrade is now forced upon us due to changes in internet security over the years.
We hope to have the new WYSIWYG live within 12hrs. In the meantime follow the tips above to continue listing ok.
Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
Users with Chrome v30 and above will, from now, be using the upgraded WYSIWYG editor. All other browsers will continue to use the old version. We will monitor how the new one gets one, it will alter and clean your HTML to suit its own rules. Remember to use the Plain HTML Box if you have created your own HTML.

Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
Some users with Windows XP have been reporting problems similar to Cannot access the real us.ebid.net
There are 2 main reasons for this, firstly the time on your computer may be incorrect. Make sure you have the correct day, month and year set.
Secondly you need to update to Service Pack 3. If you are not using Service Pack 3 you are unable to use the latest SSL techniques. Go to Control Panel > Windows Update to update your computer. To check which Service Pack you currently have installed right click on My Computer and view Properties.
Re: Site Downtime & Problem Notifications
