Can anyone help - windows 8
In windows 7 you could import your photos from your camera, view them and turn them round (change the orientation) and the would save like that. You could also choose to delete when imported. In windows 8 you dont seem to be able to do that. I import the photos and turn them round but when i upload to ebid they are sideways on again and there is no option to delete from camera. Am i doing something wrong and how can i change it please
Re: Can anyone help - windows 8
What program are you using in Windows 8? Is it just the default paint app? If so they may have had to rewrite that for Windows 8 and it may have less functionality right now than Windows 7. I would recommend using GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/downloads/). I use it for all my image editing and I have checked that according to users it works fully on Windows 8. Hopefully that info helps.
Re: Can anyone help - windows 8
Not sure specifically about Windows 8....but most programs you have to SAVE any changes like that that you make......rotate, then SAVE, or SAVE AS.
Re: Can anyone help - windows 8
Thats the problem maj there is no option to save.. I went to microsoft and downloaded photo gallery which was what i used in windows 7 and it works perfectly. i just had to remember to change the file associations. i think i hate windows 8!
Re: Can anyone help - windows 8
Well, OH said today that MS isn't supporting Windows 7 anymore. sigh.

You and many others! :)
It's going to be a huge opportunity for Ubuntu Linux, which is easy to use, does pretty much everything that most Windows users want (and more) and is free! The only thing it lacks is big budget advertising! A bit like eBid, really!
And I thoroughly agree with agnqtech, Gimp is a great photo editor, a free download for Windows or Mac or Linux. It's very powerful, but you don't need to learn all its facilities. Just google for what you want to do if you can't immediately find it in the menus -- e.g. 'gimp rotate', and you'll find plenty of helpful sites and even tutorials on Youtube. Sure, every photo editor can do simple things like crop/rotate/resize, but some day you may want to be a little more ambitious -- then with the simple editors you have to switch and relearn, whereas Gimp can do it all.
Re: Can anyone help - windows 8
Will have to avoid windows 8 at all cost.
Re: Can anyone help - windows 8
I have not used it, but Windows 8 does have some good features
There are always teething problems with new OSs etc.
It may pay to stick with it and they will be working on 9 which will be based on 8.
Re: Can anyone help - windows 8
