For Cheaver. A response...
I didn't want to hi-jack Becky's thread, so responding here:

BTW Becky... Didn't you know that 'White Christmas' is now deemed to be a racist song?

Mel - why? 'cos there ain't any black snow, is there?
It was an allusion made by an idiot (is there any other type?) Labour politician during the Oldham West and Royton by-election campaign. He inferred that the playing of 'White Christmas' by UKIP as part of a medley of Xmas songs was racially offensive in an area with a high number of non-white constituents (and, presumably, must be deemed racist played anywhere).

It's the same idiocy that now dictates that 'blackboards' should be called 'chalkboards' and why the term 'nitty gritty' is deemed racially offensive.
Re: For Cheaver. A response...
oh dear.... sad idiot indeed.
Re: For Cheaver. A response...
In that case Mel I'm very pleased I picked it ! http://www.pic4ever.com/images/gigglesmile.gif
Good grief does anyone want a twenty year old idiot like that having a say in running our country ? What a silly schoolboy mentality - whoops that's even an insult to schoolboys !
Re: For Cheaver. A response...
Does that mean that using black and white to describe the colour of my t-shirt is no longer allowed?
Re: For Cheaver. A response...
This reminds me of the joke about the football coach who was having problems with racist remarks on his team. He finally got fed up and told the players "From now on there are no black or white players. Everyone is green. Got it? GREEN.
Ok--Now you dark green guys line up over here and you light green guys...
Re: For Cheaver. A response...
I'm sure I saw this article somewhere else, on Twitter or Facebook or something, and although not offended by it did feel that it seemed somehow appropriate for UKIP to be playing it.
I suspect that only the professionally outraged actually found it offensive, but that a large part of the population probably sniggered a little and thought "surprise, surprise".
Re: For Cheaver. A response...
It's just UKIP pushing the boundaries to see what they can get away with. Pity the councillor rose to the bait. It only gives UKIP and their supporters the opportunity to act outraged.

I can't understand the mentality of people in this country who support UKIPs values and aims.
