Ipswich scrapyard to donate thousands from safe to charity
Staff at scrap metal dealer who found about £20,000 while cutting up safes to recycle will donate the money to charity after no-one claimed it.
The safe was being opened at Sackers, near Ipswich, when staff noticed one was stuffed with notes and coin bags.

The money has been in police stores since April waiting for the "rightful owner" but they did not come forward.
It will now be given to the East Anglian Children's Hospice (EACH) and St Elizabeth Hospice.

So lovely the money has been donated to charity but I must ask "how does no one miss this amount of money"
If it was from a legitimate business surely it would have been missed, so must surmise it is from somebodies 'ill gotten gains' 'easy come come, easy go or is it a case more money than sense.??????

Money that turns out to be the proceeds of crime isn't given back to the person who finds it, although they would normally get a small reward.. It looks like it wasn't noticed when the safe was handed over to be re-cycled. Maybe it was from the home of someone who died and was part of a house clearance.

It is so good to hear news like this. Sometimes I start to think the world is tipping dangerously towards crime and insanity, but nice to know it hasn't toppled.
Such a better use of money than the alleged bequest left by the guy who owned parking lots.............£50,000.000 to the Royal Family. Seriously?? Do they really need that? How about buildig a few hospitals, or puting the money where it will make a positive difference in lives.
