Question re: yarn/wool color

What do you call yarn (in the UK) that is multi-colored in one skein?

In the states, we call it varigated. I searched for that, and though I know I've seen varigated yarn on here (and still do), the search came up as blank.

I call it variagated or multi-coloured if the colours dont blend into each other

so do I

Variegated or rainbow or marl? I'll have a look at the labels next time I'm in the shop where I get my wool

I've always known it as "rainbow"

Hi, its a few years since we were in the wool trade, but the manufacturers called it "random dyed"......less manufacturers now, maybe they call it something different....hope this helps
