"Morning, you lovely people 😊
I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me out with my fundraising for Mum's care home, and for helping to raise awareness of Alzheimer's and Dementia and its impact on families, by buying and sharing my crafts.
Yesterday, at Mum's Christmas Raffle Party, I was delighted to be able to take in a cheque for £315, to add to the Residents Activity Fund.
With your generous support and donations, between us this year we have raised;
Summer Fayre at Russell Churcher Court, for revamping the residents hair salon: £140
Alverstoke Michaelmas Fayre, for Residents Activity Fund: £701
Drop in at my place over the last few weeks, for Residents Activity Fund: £315
So total we've raised this year for Russell Churcher Court: ⭐️ £1156 ⭐️
That's a lovely amount and I couldn't have done it without you. I can't thank you all enough. 💖This money will make a big difference; helping to pay for entertainment to come in, trips out, parties and all sorts of activities and home comforts for the residents.
Who would have thought that a few painted boxes and quite a lot of little fairies would bring so much joy!
Thank you so much....you are all stars! ⭐️✨🌟😊X"

A cold and frosty one this morning! ❄️ but I hope all's well with you.
We had a lovely afternoon yesterday, at the Christmas Fayre at Mum's place. Christmas songs and craft stalls and mince pies. What more could you ask for!
It was lovely. And a good time was had by all.
I was also delighted to be able to hand over the fundraising cheque to the Residents Activity Team.
With your brilliant help, by popping in to buy my little fairies and coming to the Michaelmas Fayre, we raised an amazing £824 !!
I'm chuffed to bits! Thank you so much!
JoJo and Charlotte - from the activity team - were thrilled with it too. They said the money would practically pay for the activities for the whole of next year.
Isn't that great!
So well done everyone! You are all amazing and your money will really help to make the residents stay at Russell Churcher Court a fun and happy one.
Thank you my friends. You are all stars! ⭐️✨

Re: Update from Russell Churcher Court
For everyone who wants to know what happened to some of the money raised last year.
Below is today's update from my sister (Jaquie)
"Do you remember me telling you about the hairdressers at Mum's care home, and how they were going to revamp it with the help of the money we raised last year?
Well, last weekend I was invited to the official opening of the new, improved hairdressing salon.
We had the cutting of the ribbon and everything! And when we went through the fabulous, pink front door I was amazed to see the transformation that they'd made.
It was wonderful!
A beautiful parlour decorated in pastel pink with deeper pink blossom on the walls, black salon chairs and work tops looking into four fabulous, light-surrounded mirrors. A lovely white hairdressers sink, over the head dryer, pink and black hairspray guards and a nail-bar in the corner, where a coffee machine was waiting to serve up a lovely coffee while you relax.
It's going to make such a difference to the residents, by being somewhere special to go for a bit of pampering.
And the best thing of all for me, was the name.
They've called it DEREEN'S, after my mum. I was so touched and it means so much to me...and Mum would absolutely love it if she knew. It's such a shame that she can't really understand now, but I know that she would be so chuffed and as proud as I am of everyone who's made it possible, from everyone at Russell Churcher who've put all the time and effort into revamping the salon....to all of you who've donated to the fund.
Thank you all so much xxxx"
