I know it can be tedious, but comics like stamps need to be shown in their actual condition- it can affect their collectability and desirability, not to mention value.
All the best
Id rather see a scan, as mentioned above, you know exactly what you are buying then x
When I list comics, I take scans of the front and rear covers and at least 1 of a random inside page.
i havbe listed before with scans and was looking at getting a wand scanner but just wanted to check before spending the money.
cover.....
You could also take a photo of it yourself with a camera or phone, if you have one of those fancy dancey ones......
I used to take scans, but it killed my scanner. Now I use a moderately priced digital camera. It took me away to be able to learn how to photos straight down where the flash didn't make too much of a glare. I think I'm better at it. Now I just take photos in a place with great lighting and do not use the flash.
The important part is to get a photo clear enough to show any folds, creases, or stress marks on the spine - if they exist.
Yes, you are right about the flash. I never use it for my books or mags.
I only have a cheap 3-in-One - an Epson Stylus SX215, but I have been scanning with it for years. But a camera with a memory card is much, much quicker if you have loads to list.
I made a light box to take pictures of the items I sell, they are cheap & easy to make. I always take pictures of the actual item I am selling, heck some of the comics I sell that are highly collectible I take 27 pictures. That way they can see every angle, corner, spine.
