Tell me this wheres the proof of all this, and if there is proof, then who made god, and if you spell god backwards it spells dog,
Revelation 19:4-5 Then the twenty-four elders and the four living beings fell down and worshiped God, who was sitting on the throne. They cried out, "Amen! Hallelujah!"
(5) And from the throne came a voice that said, "Praise our God, all his servants, from the least to the greatest, all who fear him. [NLT]
The twenty-four elders and the four living beings join in the massive praise that is going up to God. The twenty-four elders are the Twelve Tribes of Israel and the Twelve Apostles; representing Israel and the Church. The four living beings represent the angelic host of God.
The voice coming from the throne is the voice of Jesus Christ. He is calling on all the servants of God, all those who fear Him, to worship Him. This scene depicts a prophesy fulfilled, that is found in Psalm 22 of a Suffering Messiah. " They have pierced my hands and my feet. I can count every bone in my body. My enemies stare at me and gloat. They divide my clothes among themselves and throw dice for my garments..........Rescue me.......from these dogs........Then I will declare the wonder of your name..........I will praise you among all your people. Praise the LORD, all you who fear him!" [Psalm 22:16- 23 NLT]
Those who fear the LORD, are being called upon to praise Him. To fear the LORD is to reverence Him. Reverence for the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom. The rewards of wisdom come to all who obey Him. [Psalm 111:10 NLT]
Anyone could have written that, its all hog-wash, and no one can prove anything!
no hogwash just asking for some type of proof if god exsists but since of all the people i try to ask just like to ramble it proves a points for me.
Why don't you ask God. It is called prayer. Why don't you ask God to reveal Himself to you? I have asked God to do that for me, many years ago, and He did. No person could do that for me. That is your problem.......you keep asking people.........you need to ask God. Stop playing with Him, and that will improve your chances of getting an answer.
P.S. Before you ask Him, apologize first (say you are sorry for he things you said about Him; it is called repentance).
I see, why pray to something thats not there? Or something that you can not see? And pray to something that one person that can not prove? Can you prove it? Besides a book written over time by many people?
Revelation 19:6-8 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
(7) Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.
(8) Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear." (Fine linen, stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)
John heard the roar of a great multitude responding to the call to praise the Lord God Almighty. Those in heaven were rejoicing over the wedding of the Lamb. The Lamb depicts the Suffering Messiah who came into the world to die for the sins of humanity. The Lamb was mentioned first in the Book of Revelation in chapter 5. The Lamb was proclaimed worthy to open the seven seals of the scroll. The Lamb was depicted receiving worship and praise from the four living creatures, the twenty four elders, and thousands upon thousands of angels. In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" [Revelation 5:12 NIV]
The Lamb is Jesus Christ. When John the Baptist saw Jesus, he said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!" [John 1:29 NIV] The servants of God in heaven are rejoicing about the wedding of the Lamb. The bride of the Lamb (the Church or the people of God) is described as making herself ready; putting on the fine linen, bright and clean, that was given to her to wear. [Rev. 19:7-8]
The fine linen represents the righteous acts or works of the saints. The fine linens were given to the bride. "But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption..." [I Cor 1:30 KJV] "God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and he gave himself to purchase our freedom." [I Cor 1:30 NLT] "It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God - that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption." [I Cor 1:30 NIV]
Revelation 19:9-10 Then the angel said to me, "Write: 'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb! And he added, "These are the true words of God."
(10) At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "Do not do it! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophesy." [NIV]
The angel told John to write down that those invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb were blessed. Blessed means happy, true happiness. John was in awe of the angel before him. John fell at the angel's feet to worship him. The angel told John not to do that; that he was a fellow servant of God. In Revelation 5:12, John had witnessed thousands upon thousands of angels worshipping Jesus, along with the other heavenly hosts. John is told to "Worship God." (see Rev. 19:10 NIV)
The introduction to Revelation states....."The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw - that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. [Rev. 1:1-2 NIV]
When John had seen Jesus in Revelation chapter 1, he fell at his feet. Jesus did not tell John not to worship him, he told John "Do not be afraid". Jesus stated, "I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." [Rev. 1:17 NIV]
The angel in contrast, told John "Do not worship me.......Worship God." (see Rev. 19:10) "For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophesy." [Revelation 19:10 NIV] The testimony of Jesus may mean that the message of Jesus is the very essence of prophesy; or that his message is given to his prophets by the spirit. The entire purpose of Revelation is to reveal Jesus Christ, and God's redemptive purpose for mankind and the earth.
The entire purpose of Revelation is to reveal Jesus Christ. This actually would include God's plan for the redemption of mankind and the earth. Post #80 addressed some of the key witnesses of the reality of Jesus Christ. Wisdom itself testified and gave witness to the LORD.
Does not wisdom call out? Does not understanding raise her voice? On the heights along the way, where the paths meet, she takes her stand......... "To you, O men, I call out; I raise my voice to all mankind......." [Proverbs 8:1-4 NIV] "I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence; I possess knowledge and discretion...." [Proverbs 8:12]
"The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old; I was appointed from eternity, from the beginning, before the world began. When there were no oceans, I was given birth, .........before the mountains...........before the hills.......before he made the earth..........I was there when he set the heavens in place.........when he gave the sea it's boundary..........and when he marked out the foundations of the earth. Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence, rejoicing in his whole world and delighting in mankind." [Proverbs 8:22-31]
Wisdom goes on calling all of mankind to listen to her and be blessed. Wisdom goes on to describe the blessings and favor of the LORD, that will be received by all who love and listen to her. [Proverbs 8:32-36] John had identified Jesus as "the Word" and as "Creator of all things" (see John 1:1-3,10)

Revelation 19:11-13 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war.
(12) His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself.
(13) He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. [NIV]
John's attention shifts from the scene of massive worship of God in heaven; to a spectacular scene of heaven standing open. A white horse was standing in the midst of the opened heaven, and his rider is called Faithful and True. Jesus had instructed John to write to the church of Laodicea, "These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation." [Rev. 3:14 NIV] The rider on the white horse is Jesus Christ, returning as Triumphant Warrior, Messiah, and King. John stated that the rider will judge justly as he makes war. [Rev. 19:11 NIV]
Jesus stated,...."the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgement to the Son...." ".....I judge only as I hear, and my judgement is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me." [John 5:22,30 NIV]
Jesus's eyes are described as flaming fire. Fire is symbolic of judgement. Jesus will see and hear clearly as he judges all according to their works. The works of the godly will result in rewards, and the works of the ungodly result in destruction. On his head will be many crowns, as he will rule the nations. We are told that Jesus will have a name written on him that no one will know, except him. [Rev. 19:12 NIV]
Now throughout the Scriptures we are told of many names, titles, and attributes that have been ascribed to Jesus. In verse 13, the rider on the white horse is identified as having the name "the Word of God." John identified Jesus as "the Word of God." [John 1:1-14] Jesus is depicted wearing a robe that has been dipped in blood. [Rev. 19:13] Isaiah prophesies of the coming day and year of the LORD's judgement and trampling of the nations. The LORD is asked why his garments are so red? The LORD answered that he had trampled the nations in anger and their blood had stained his garment. [Isaiah 63:1-6] Many of the Old Testament Prophets had described the coming day of the LORD's vengence and judgement. This scene depicted by John in Revelation 19:11-13, will occur towards the end of the Tribulation Period.

Revelation 19:14-16 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.
(15) Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.
(16) On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. [NIV]
The rider on the white horse, Jesus Christ, was being followed by the armies of heaven. The armies of heaven included angelic beings; probably the 144,000 (see Rev. 14:1-5) ; and possibly believers (see Rev. 14:12-13; 17:14). The armies of heaven were also riding on white horses, and were dressed in fine linen, white and clean. White is symbolic of purity; and the fine linen that was white and clean, represents the righteous acts or works of God's servants. (see Rev. 19:8)
John wrote that......"Out of the mouth of Jesus comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations." (see Rev. 19:15) When John first saw Jesus in Revelation chapter 1, he described Jesus as holding seven stars (angels) in his right hand; and that out of Jesus's mouth came a sharp double-edged sword. (see Rev. 1:16) The sword represents the judgement of God.
The Apostle Paul instructed believers about putting on the armor of God. Paul stated...."Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God." (Ephesians 6:17) Paul went on to discuss the word of God more fully in the Book of Hebrews. Paul stated......."For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart........." (Hebrews 4:12-13) John identified Jesus as the Word of God (see John 1)
John wrote that Jesus would rule the nations with an iron scepter. A scepter is a rod or staff carried by those in authority. The scepter of iron represents absolute and mighty authority. John identifies Jesus as the one who is treading the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. (see Rev. 19:15) The winepress was mentioned earlier in Revelation; an angel is depicted as reaping the harvest in judgement, and throwing the grapes into the winepress of God's wrath. (see Rev. 14:19-20)
Jesus had a name written on his robe and thigh: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. (see Rev. 19:16) The angel had explained to John that the ten kings, the beast, and the kingdom of Satan would wage war with the Lamb. They would be overcome by the Lamb because he is Lord of lords and King of Kings. (see Rev. 17:12-14) Jesus came to earth first as Suffering Messiah, the sacrificial Lamb of God. Revelation 17 revealed the Lamb as sovereign. The Lamb was proclaimed worthy of honor, and glory, and praise by the heavenly host. (see Rev.5:11-14) Jesus is depicted in Revelation 19 as Triumphant-Warrior-Messiah-King.
Note: All Scriptural references are taken from NIV Bible.
REVELATION 19
(Continued)
Revelation 19:17-18 And I saw an angel standing in the sun, who cried with a loud voice to all the birds flying in midair, "Come, gather together for the great supper of God,
(18) so that you may eat the flesh of kings, generals, and mighty men, of horses and their riders, and the flesh of all people, free and slave, small and great. [NIV]
The nations, the multitudes of people, small and great, free and slave, who had joined in support of the kingdom of Anti-christ, will be defeated. John sees an angel, who is described as standing in the sun. This angel could have been illuminating the very brilliance of the sun; or standing in front of the sun, blocking it, and radiating an even brighter light than the sun.
The angel cried out to birds that were in flight, to come to the great supper of God. This scene will be a grissley and grim contrast to the wedding supper of the Lamb. (see Rev. 19:17-18; Rev. 19:6-9) The LORD is described as striking down the nations with the sword of his mouth, and treading and trampling the winepress in his fury. (Rev.19:15; Rev. 14:19-20)
The birds are being called upon to clean up the carnage. The Prophet Ezekiel gave a word of the LORD against Gog, Meshech, and Tubal describing an end time battle between the nations and the LORD. (see Ezekiel 38-39; Rev. 20:7-10) Ezekiel received a call in this prophesy to "Call out to every kind of bird........to assemble for the sacrifice the LORD was preparing on the mountains of Israel.........." (Ezekiel 39:17-20)
The defeat of the nations described in Revelation 19:17-18, preceeds the defeat of the beast, and the false prophet. (Rev. 19:19-20) The rest of them (the nations defeated in Rev. 19:17-18) were said to have been killed and became the provision of the great supper of God. (see Rev. 19:21) Notice, that Satan is not mentioned directly in Revelation chapter 19.
REVELATION 19
(Continued)
Revelation 19:19-21 Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to make war against the rider on the horse and his army.
(20) But the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who had performed the miraculous signs on his behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped his image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfer.
(21) The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh. [NIV]
The gathering of the kings of the earth and their armies by the dragon (Satan), the beast (Anti-christ), and the false prophet; to make war against the rider on the horse and his armies, is described in Revelation 16:12-16. This final battle is to take place on the Mountain of Megiddo (the place called Armageddon).
The armies of the kings of the earth will be made up of the ten kings, their leading commanders, and the multitudes of people who have accepted the mark of the beast. Although the multitudes were deceived and deluded into worshipping the beast and accepting his mark, they also will share in the judgement against the kingdom of Anti-christ. The third angel that was proclaiming the gospel during the second half of the Tribulation Period had warned earth's inhabitants not to receive the mark of the beast. (see Revelation 14:9-12)
Although Satan is the controlling ruler of the end time kingdom of Anti-christ, he is not directly mentioned in Revelation chapter 19. Two of the three members of the unholy trinity (the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet) were thrown into the lake of sulfer alive. The beast (Anti-christ) and the false prophet were thrown into the lake of sulfer, after..." the kings, generals, and mighty men, horses and their riders, and the multitude of people small and great"........had been killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse. (see Rev. 19:17-18, 19-21)
Satan is not present with the members of his kingdom and his armies, to defend them while they are being defeated and destroyed. Where is he? Is he hiding to save himself? The purpose of Satan and his character may explain his apparent absence. Satan has been described in the Scriptures as a deceiver, a thief who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. (see John 10:10-13) Satan uses anyone or anything to accomplish his purpose of destroying mankind and the earth; and then he will also destroy his own. He will certainly not be there to deliver them from destruction.
Jesus Christ, in contrast, is seen accompanying His armies into battle and victory. Jesus stated that his purpose is to bring abundant life......."I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10)
REVELATION 20
Revelation 20:1-3 Then I saw an angel come down from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit and a heavy chain in his hand.
(2) He seized the dragon -- that old serpent, the Devil, Satan -- and bound him in chains for a thousand years.
(3) The angel threw him into the bottomless pit, which he then shut and locked so Satan could not deceive the nations anymore until the thousand years were finished. Afterward he would be released again for a little while. [NLT]
Jesus identified himself to John and the angels of the seven churches, in Revelation chapters 1-3. Twice he mentioned himself as having the key or keys. In Revelation 1:18, Jesus stated......"Fear not; I am the first and last........and have the keys of hell and of death." Notice that keys is used, signifying more than one key. In Revelation chapter 19, the beast and the false prophet were captured and thrown alive into the lake of sulfur (the lake of fire). [Rev. 19:20]
The beast and the false prophet were probably captured by angel(s). Angels are servants and messengers of God. An angel was sent from heaven with the key to the bottomless pit and a heavy chain. He snatched Satan, bound him up with the chain, and threw him into the bottomless pit. The angel shut Satan in the pit, and used the key to lock the bottomless pit. (see Rev. 20:1-3)
Satan was placed in the bottomless pit so that he could not deceive the nations until the thousand years were accomplished. This thouand year period of time is called the Millennium. Some Biblical scholars hold that this will be a time of great peace and prosperity on earth. That there will be no war, or sickness during this time, and the earth will be repopulated by survivors. The peace would be present as a result of the return and reign of Christ.
After the thousand years are finished, Satan will be released from the bottomless pit. In the King James Version of the Bible it states that..."he must be loosed a little season." [Rev. 20:3]
One might ask, why? Things on earth seem to be going along beautifully in his absence. The Millennial Period will be a time of heaven on earth. Why does Satan have to be loosed? He has to be released to fulfill the word of God; he has to be released for his final defeat and judgement. The final judgement will also impact even the dead, both great and small. This will be discussed further along in Revelation.
REVELATION 20
(Continued)
Revelation 20:4-6 Then I saw thrones, and the people sitting on them had been given the authority to judge. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their testimony about Jesus, for proclaiming the word of God. And I saw the souls of those who had not worshipped the beast or his statute, nor accepted his mark on their forehead or on their hands. They came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
(5) This is the first resurrection. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.)
(6) Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with him a thousand years. [NLT]
Revelation chapter 20 is included as one of the most difficult chapters to interpret in the Book of Revelation. The major questions that challenge interpretation of this chapter involve chronology. The timing and sequencing of major end time events. Jesus addressed this issue often, so it had to be, and has to be important. Jesus's disciples asked him...."what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?" (Matthew 24:3)
Revelation 20 is the only chapter in the Bible that explicitly mentions the first resurrection of martyred saints, who will reign with Jesus Christ for 1,000 years. This 1,000 year reign of Christ is referred to as the Millennium. Many are of the opinion that the Millennial Period reign of Christ, will occur here on earth, from the City of Jerusalem. The Bible does not explicitly state this in Revelation 20. Many are of the opinion that there will be great peace on earth during the Millennium. The Bible does not explicitly state this in Revelation 20. (see Revelation 20:4-6)
One thing is sure, where ever Jesus Christ is reigning from during the Millennium, be it in heaven, on earth, or in the heart of the believer; there will be great peace, as Jesus is the Prince of Peace. "For a child is born unto us, a son is given. And the government will rest on his shoulders. These will be his royal titles: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace........" (Isaiah 9:6-7)
The order of events highlighted in Revelation 20 were the imprisonment of Satan, following the first defeat of his armies. (see Revelation 20:1-3; Rev. 19:11-21) Satan was captured, bound, and thrown into the bottomless pit, before the beginning of the Millennium (the 1,000 year reign of Christ).
The scene shifts, John is now seeing thrones, with people on them who are authorized to judge. This is probably a heavenly scene, and the people judging on thrones are probably the twelve apostles. John sees the souls of martyred saints, those blessed to be a part of the first resurrection. These had died a first death as a result of their testimony about Jesus, and for proclaiming the word of God. Some also died from hardship, that resulted from not accepting the mark of the beast. They would have been unable to buy or sell, resulting in famine and death. (see Rev. 20:4-5; Rev. 6:9-11; Rev. 13:11-18) A promise of blessing for all who died in the Lord as a martyr, was issued from heaven. (Rev. 14:12-13; Rev. 20:6)
The sequencing or timing of events before, during, and after Revelation 20 are intriguing. Also fascinating is the use of the terms first, second, last, and final. Jesus had identified himself to John as being the First and Last (see Revelation 1:17-18 NLT). Jesus had a first coming, as Suffering Messiah. Jesus will have a second coming as Triumphant Warrior - Messiah- King. (see Revelation 19:11-16)
The first defeat of the armies of Satan, will occur prior to his capture and imprisonment in the bottomless pit, before the 1,000 years begin (the Millennium). [see Rev.19:17-21; Rev. 20:1-3] Satan will have a second (final) defeat, after he is released from the bottomless pit, at the end of the 1,000 years (end of the Millennium). [see Rev. 20:7-10]
There will be a first resurrection, this is described in Revelation 20:4-6. This resurrection occurs at the beginning of the 1,000 years (Millennium); at the second coming of Jesus Christ. The event of the first resurrection, is also known as The Rapture or catchng away of the Church. The appearance of the sign of the Son of Man in the clouds of heaven, is described as occurring immediately after the Tribulation of those days. (see Rev. 19:11; Matthew 24:29-31) The Apostle Paul teaches believers about the rapture of the Church (the first resurrection). [see I Corinthians 15:50-55 and I Thessalonians 4:13-18]
There will also be a second resurrection for those who are not a part of the first resurrection. (see Revelation 20:11-15) There is of neccessity a first death, that will occur to martyred saints and also to the rest. (see Rev. 20:5) Those experiencing the first death as martyrs, are called blessed and holy; it is stated that the second death has no power over them. (see Rev. 20:5-6)
But the rest of the dead, those who experience the second resurrection, will be judged at the great white throne of God. All present will be judged by the things they have done (their works). Those whose names are not found in the Book of Life, will be cast into the lake of fire. The second death is the lake of fire. (see Rev. 20:11-15) This final judgement is spoken of by Jesus. (see Matthew 25:31-46)
The questions concerning the timing of events also occurred with events prior to Revelation chapter 20. The Church Age, the period of time that the Church has to declare the Gospel (Good News) before Jesus's second return. The Tribulation Period, the last seven years on earth, that will be perilous times. These key components of end time events are also filtered through interpretation. The chronology of these events and their interpretation will be largely dependent on various points of view. Some of the major view points include the preterist, the historical view, the futurist, and the idealist. These views would determine interpretation of The Tribulation, ie, pre-tribulation, mid-tribulation, and post-tribulation view points.
In regards to the Millennium, interpretation view points include Historic Pre-millennialist (post-trib), Dispenationalism (pre-trib), Amillennialism (post-trib), and Post- Millennialism. These are theories, for further information click link. http://www.jesuswalk.com/revelation/...nium_chart.pdf
Jesus emphasized that no man or angel knows the day or the hour of that day; so just be ready. (see Matthew 24:36)
Scriptural references used were Revelation 20; Matthew 24; Matthew 25
REVELATION 20
(Continued)
Revelation 20:7-10 When the thousand years end, Satan will be let out of his prison.
(8) He will go out to deceive the nations from every corner of the earth, which are called Gog and Magog. He will gather them together for battle -- a mighty host, as numberless as sand along the shore.
(9) And I saw them as they went up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded God's people and the beloved city. But fire from heaven came down on the attacking armies and consumed them.
(10) Then the Devil, who betrayed them, was thrown into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur, joining the beast and the false prophet. There they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. [NLT]
When the thousand year period of time (the Millennium) has ended, Satan will be released from the bottomless pit and his chains. (Rev. 20:1-3,7)
The Millennium is the 1,000 year reign of Jesus Christ with the saints who were part of the first resurrection (the Rapture of the Church). With Satan absent from earth for 1,000 years; the earth would have had time to repopulate, and recover from the destruction of the catastrophic plagues and war with the LORD. This would have also been enough time to forget the root cause of the pain, suffering, and destruction of the earth and it's inhabitants. The decendants of those destroyed could be untested, unchallenged, and luke warm in their convictions and relationship with God.
Satan, unchanged from his imprisonment, will go out to deceive the nations of the world. The identification of Gog and Magog is thought to be modern day Russia, as leader or organizer of the nations, who will gather together for battle against God's people. These gathered nations will be a vast and mighty army, that will converge on the beloved city. This beloved city is Jerusalem. (see Revelation 20:1-9)
But, fire will come down from heaven on this vast and mighty host, and they will be totally consumed. (Revelation 20:9) The Prophet Ezekiel was given a message from the LORD, concerning Gog and Magog. (see Ezekiel 38) Ezekiel prophesied of the fire that would come down on Gog and Magog as they attacked Israel, totally destroying them and their allies. (see Ezekiel 39)
The fire from God is said to be coming down from heaven. It appears as if Jesus is in heaven, during the time of the Millennium.
Following the total destruction of the nations who have followed Satan into warfare against the LORD and his people; Satan will be defeated and thrown into the lake of fire. He will be joining the beast and the false prophet who he had deceived before the Millennium. They will be tormented day and night, in their final prison, forever and ever. (Revelation 20:10)
Notice that Satan will betray the nations of the world again, as he had done to their ancesters. They too will be totally destroyed after following him; he will not deliver them from destruction. Afterwards Satan will be thrown into the lake of fire for the final time. (see Revelation 19:15-21; 20:1-3, 7-8, 9, 10)
Satan deceives and betrays his own. One might wonder why anyone would desire to serve him.
REVELATION 20
(Continued)
Revelation 20:11-13 And I saw a great white throne, and I saw the one who was sitting on it. The earth and the sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide.
(12) I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to the things written in the books, according to what they had done.
(13) The sea gave up the dead in it, and death and the grave gave up the dead in them. They were all judged according to their deeds. [NLT]
After John had witnessed the final defeat of Satan, his vast armies, and the destruction on earth; he saw a great white throne. Jesus Christ was sitting on the throne, as Judge. The earth and the sky were described as fleeing from his presence, but unable to find a hiding place. Cataclysmic destruction will occur on earth, and all seeking to hide will be unable to hide. Even death and the grave will not be able to hide anyone. John saw the dead, who had missed the first resurrection, standing before God's throne. The rich, the poor, the famous, and the obscure; all who were dead were called to the final judgement. (see Revelation 20:11-12)
Jesus stated that...."the Father leaves all judgement to his Son....." (John 5:22 NLT) Jesus also stated "the dead will hear my voice.......the dead in their graves will hear the voice of God's Son, and they will rise again. Those who have done good will rise to eternal life, and those who have continued in evil will rise to judgement." (see John 5:25-30 NLT)
The Apostle Paul addressed the cause of death as mankind's relationship to Adam. Sin and death entered the earth because of Adam. But all who belong to Christ, the second Adam would be given new life. Paul indicated there was an order to resurrection; that Christ was raised first; then when Christ returns all of his people will be raised. (see I Corinthians 15:22-23,50 NLT)
John wrote that the books were opened, including the Book of Life. The dead were judged according to the things written in the books, according to their deeds. (Revelation 20:12) There will be more than one book, and the Book of Life is differentiated from the other books. From ancient times records of geneologies, and registries of citizenship were kept. God also has records, registries, and books containing the names of people, their deeds, and their citizenship in His family. Jesus stated, "The wold's sin is unbelief in me" (see John 16:8-9 NLT)
The Book of Life was spoken of by Moses and David. (Exodus 32:30-34; Psalm 69:27-28) Psalm 69 is considered a Messianic Psalm, as it reveals the sufferring Jesus endured on the cross (see Psalm 69:21-28) Daniel 12:1 stated that......."at that time every one of your people whose name is written in the book will be rescued."
The Book of Life belongs to the Lamb; the one slain before the world was made. (Revelation 13:8)
The Book of Life existed before the world began. (Revelation 17:8)
Peter called the people of God chosen, elect according to the foreknowledge of God....made holy by the Spirit....and as a result obeyed Jesus Christ and was cleansed by His blood. (see I Peter 1:2, 18-20)
An abiding security is promised to God's people (see I Peter 1:5; John 10:28-30; Phil. 4:3; Heb. 12:23)
Jesus told his disciples to.... "rejoice because your names are registered as citizens of heaven." (Luke 10:20 NLT)
All who belong to the world; those who worship the beast; are those whose names are not written in the Book of Life*. (see Rev. 13:8; Rev. 17:8) The Greek reads "do not stand written" or "do not remain written" instead of are not written.* If Revelation 17:8 was written with the Greek translation, it would read, ..... And the people who belong to this world, whose names "do not remain written" in the Book of Life from before the world began..... (see Revelation 17:8 NLT) The Greek translation would be consistent with the language that names could be "blotted out" or "erased" from the Book of Life. (see Revelation 3:5 KJV, NLT) The name would have had to be in the Book of Life, to be blotted out or erased.
Jesus promised never to erase the victorious from the Book of Life. (see Revelation 3:5)
REVELATION 20
(Continued)
Revelation 20:14-15. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
(15) If anyone's name was not found written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. [NIV NLT]
It was mentioned in the previous post that "was not found written" is translated in the Greek as "do not stand written" or "do not remain written". (see Revelation 13:8; 17:8; 20:15) The Book of Life was said to exist before the world was made. Some hold that all born into the world had their name written in the Book of Life before the world was made. Read Revelation 17:8 carefully, as it does seem to say that the names were in the Book of Life from the creation of the world. [NIV]
Since Jesus Christ came to die for the sins of the world (Isaiah 53:6; John 2:2; I Tim. 4:10; Titus 2:11; John 1:9) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16 NIV)
Since God is perfectly just and fair in his judgement of sin (Romans 2:1-16)
Since all of mankind can be potentially saved in Jesus Christ because of the patience of God (I Tim. 4:10; 2 Peter 3:8-9) Jesus was having dinner at Matthew, the tax collectors home; he was criticised for eating with sinners. Jesus said, ....."It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick......I I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners." (Matthew 9:10-14) Jesus had responded with similar compassion to Zaccheus when he went to eat at his house.
Since Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to.....convince the world of it's sin, and of God's righteousness, and of the coming judgement. (John 16:8-9)
It is apparent that God has great love for the world, and does not want to see one person perish. (see John 3:16-21) The sin of the world is unbelief in Jesus. (John 16:9)
The names of all born into the world were written in the Book of Life. A person who has died without believing in Jesus, will be erased from the Book of Life. Anyone who accepts the mark of the beast will be erased from the Book of Life. So when the books are opened, including the Book of Life. Each person who experienced the second resurrection will be judged out of the books based on their deeds. Their names will be searched for in the Book of Life, and if not found, they are presummed guilty. Those not found in the Book of Life will be cast into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
God's saving grace is available to every person up to the moment of death, except those who receive the mark of the beast.
REVELATION 21
Revelation 21:1-2 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared And the sea was also gone.
(2) And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven like a beautiful bride prepared for her husband. [NLT]
Revelation chapter 21 begins a new phase describing the redeemed of the LORD, and their eternal dwelling place. The scene depicted during the great white throne judgement, revealed the earth and the sky (the heaven) fleeing from the presence of God. They found no place to hide. They fled in fear of the coming judgement of God. They fled as they watched the dead who were in the sea, the grave, death, and in hell, delivered up to God. (see Revelation 20:11-15)
John wrote that he saw a new heaven and a new earth, because the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. Also the sea was no longer there. (Revelation 21:1) The LORD proclaimed......."Look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth -- so wonderful that no one will even think about the old ones anymore." (Isaiah 65:17 NLT) " 'As surely as my new heavens and earth will remain........' says the LORD" (Isaiah 66:22 NLT)
Peter addressed believers in his second letter about the coming day of the Lord, that the earth would be consumed by fire, and totally melt away. (see 2 Peter 3:7, 10-12) Peter went on to say......."But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world where everyone is right with God." (2 Peter 3:13 NLT)
Jesus himself had spoken of heaven and earth disappearing, but his word remaining forever. (Matt. 5:18; Matt. 24:35; Mark 13:31; Luke 21:33)
In Revelation 21:1, not only was the earth and the heaven not found, but the sea was also gone. Nothing remained of the old. This would necessitate the creation and coming of the new. "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." (1 Corinthians 2:9 KJV)
Following the creation of the new heaven and the new earth; John saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven. (see Revelation 21:2) The new Jerusalem will come down from heaven as the capital of the new earth, and God will live among his people (redeemed saints). The LORD also proclaimed......"Be glad; rejoice forever in my creation! And look! I will create Jerusalem as a place of happiness.........I, the LORD, have spoken. (see Isaiah 65:17-25)
Peter explained that the Lord was not being slow about his promise to return, but he is giving people time to repent, to be saved. (2 Peter 8-9, 15)
REVELATION 21
Revelation 21:3-5 I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
(4) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
(5) And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. [KJV]
John is seeing unimaginable heavenly sights of a new heaven and a new earth; and he hears a loud voice from heaven. This great voice could be that of an angel. Angels are messengers and servants of God. The great voice proclaimed that the tabernacle of God is with men. A tabernacle is a tent; and has also been used to represent our bodies, a place of habitation.
The Tabernacle of Sinai was built by Moses and the Children of Israel to represent the presence of God among His people. The dwelling place of God was the Holy of Holies. (see Exodus 26, 36, 40) John depicted Jesus as "the Word becoming flesh" or putting on the tabernacle of flesh, and dwelling among us. (see John 1:14) Jesus (the Word) came first in the flesh, as Suffering Savior" (see Isaiah 52:13-15; Isaiah 53)
The great voice from heaven said, "Look, the tabernacle (tent, home, place of abode) of God is dwelling with and among men. God himself will be with them, and be their God. (See Revelation 21:3) Jesus Christ was described as........"Our High Priest sat down in the place of highest honor in heaven, at God's right hand.......ministering there in the sacred tent, the true place of worship that was built by the Lord and not by human hands." [Hebrews 8:1-2 NLT]
Jesus Christ will be King, ruling from New Jerusalem; and High Priest abiding with and among His people. New Jerusalem is the Tabernacle or Temple that will be the future presence of God among the redeemed saints. In contrast, the tabernacle in the wilderness of Sinai, contained the Holy of Holies; which was accessible only to the High Priest once each year. (see Hebews 9:7) "Jesus Christ our High Priest.......took his own blood into that Most Holy Place, once and for all." (see Hebrews 9:11-12) Because Jesus Christ was the perfect sacrifice, the redeemed saints; his people, will have direct and personal access to God. (see Revelation 21:3)
Jesus Christ, as God and High Priest, will wipe away all tears and all sorrows. There will be no more pain, suffering, or death. All that was old and caused unhappiness and pain will pass away. Jesus Christ will make all things new. (Revelation 21:4-5)
REVELATION 21
Revelation 21:6-7 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
(7) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. [KJV]
Jesus Christ spoke to John and told him that "It is done". The purpose of God was completed. Jesus had made a similar comment from the cross..... "It is finished". He had accomplished the redemption of mankind and the earth through his shed blood, once and for all.
Jesus described himself as "Alpha and Omega"; these are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Jesus was saying "I am the A through Z. The Apostle Paul summed up the supremacy of Christ in Colossians 1:15-20; 2:9-10. "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power......." [Colossians 2:9-10 KJV]
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created.......He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.........he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy....." [see Colossians 1:15-20 KJV, NIV]
Jesus described himself as the Alpha and Omega in Revelation 1:8; 21:6; and 22:13
Jesus made it plain by describing himself as "the beginning and the end" in Revelation 1:8; 21:6; and 22:13
Jesus also made it plain by describing himself as "the First and Last" in Revelation 1:11,17; 2:8; and 22:13 These terms were also used in Old Testament Scripture and the Prophets. "This is what the LORD says--Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty; I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God. [Isaiah 44:6 NIV]
Jesus also told John that all who thirst (for the things of God) would be given freely, without cost, the water of life. Jesus was speaking with a Samaritan woman, concerning the gift of living water he could give. He also revealed to her that he was the Messiah. His disciples were shocked that he held a personal conversation with a Samaritan woman. The Samaritan's and the Jews had nothing to do with each other. (Rev. 21:6; Jn 4)
Jesus said to John, "He who overcomes will inherit all this". (Rev. 21:7) This was the word of encouragement Jesus had given to the seven Churches of Revelation 1-3. It was the word of encouragement and promise given to those who resist against the mark of the beast or his name. Jesus promises to be the God of the overcomer, and to make them part of his family.
REVELATION 21Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone : which is the second death. [KJV]
(Continued)
Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolators, and all liars -- their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. [NLT]
This one verse of scripture found in Revelation 21, reveals a sharp contrast to the promises spoken of in Revelation 21:6-7 to the spiritually thirsty and the overcomers. The verse has been quoted in both the King James Version (KJV) and the New Living Translation (NLT), to aid understanding of what is being said.
This list of actions or actvities that would seemingly make one eligible for the lake of fire (hell, sheol, the abyss), have caused questions. A major question perhaps is "how can a coward be compared to a murderer; or any comparison between the listed?" Does sin have a measuring stick? Are there "little sins" vs "big sins"? Many, including those "in the Church", think that there are "little sins" and "big sins". But to God, sin is sin.
The Word of God says that...."all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". "As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one......." (Romans 3:9 KJV) The Apostle John had a word for all who claimed to be sinless, and the only true solution for sin. (see 1 John 1:5-10)
John was addressing a group of inividuals in 1 John 1, that were known as Gnostics. They had entered some church circles, teaching that spirit is all good and matter (Including the body) was evil. Thus, escape from the body, through special knowledge, was considered the way to salvation by Gnostics. They denied that their evil actions were sin. (see 1 John 1:10) John uses the terminology of "we" and "us" to speak of himself, the other Apostles; and "so that you..." to differentiate those involved in Gnosticism. (see 1 John 1:1-5)
The Apostle John identified the only true solution for sin as......."the blood of Jesus Christ.....that purifies us from all sin." And....."If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (see I John 1:7b-9)
Going back to a major question.......How can a cowardly, fearful person be considered as sinful as a murderer in God's sight? Thus worthy to end up in the lake of burning sulfer or the lake of fire. Some have even pondered over and compared this verse of scripture to scriptures that state "the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom." (see Psalm 111:10; Proverbs 9:10)
So is there a difference between "being fearful" and "fearing the LORD"? Yes, the difference is as great as darkness and light. Fear of the LORD, means to reverence God, to show him respect and honor. Fear of the LORD is born out of love for the LORD, and trust in the LORD. It is an essential component of faith, which is required to please God. (see Hebrews 11:1,6) To "fear not" is an actual command from God, that can be found frequently throughout the Old and New Testaments. Abraham was commended for fearing God. (see Genesis 22:12)
Jacob was comforted and reassured by God when he greatly feared meeting up with his brother Esau. (Genesis 32:1-12) God created a spirit of reconciliation when Jacob finally was met by Esau. (see Genesis 33:1-4) The modern day descendants of Jacob and Esau seem to have forgotten this incredible reconciliation that occurred between their fore fathers. The spirit of reconciliation had also occurred between Isaac and Ishmael earlier, as they came together again to bury their father Abraham. (see Genesis 25:7-11)
Moses, Joshua, and other leaders throughout the Old Testament were commanded to be strong and courageous, and to not be fearful. Jesus told his disciples to "fear not" on multiple occassions throughout the New Testament. To be fearful is to demonstrate lack of trust in God. In the sight of God it is sin. The wages of sin is death (the second death)........but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus. (see Revelation 20:11-15; 21:8) (see Romans 6:23)
REVELATION 21Revelation 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolators, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone : which is the second death. [KJV]

ADDITIONAL COMMENTARY ON "FEAR OF THE LORD" vs "BEING FEARFUL or COWARDLY"
It was discussed in the previous post that there is a vast difference between fearing God and being fearful. I would like to comment further on "the fear of the LORD", which the Scriptures say is the beginning of wisdom. The starting point of becoming wise or to being the possessor of wisdom.
(see Psalm 111:10; Proverbs 9:10)
The Fear of the LORD was described as reverence of God; respect and honor of God. Having it's roots in love and trust of God, it is an essential component of faith. "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (Hebrews 11:1,6 NIV)
In Proverbs 4:5-9 we are strongly advised to get wisdom and understanding. The acquisition of wisdom is described as the most important goal of life. Wisdom herself promised that all who seek her will find her. (see Proverbs 8:1, 17)
Wisdom personified claimed that....."the LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old; I was appointed from eternity, from the beginning, before the world began." (see Proverbs 8:22-36 NIV) Wisdom claimed to be...."the craftsman at the LORD's side when he marked out the foundations of the earth" ; or when he was setting up his designs for creation. (see Proverbs 8:27-31)
The rewards of wisdom are described as more precious than silver, gold, rubies, or anything you could desire or want. (see Proverbs 3:13-15)
The rewards of wisdom include among other of life's greatest treasures:
Understanding - Proverbs 3:13-14, 8:12 ; Psalm 111:10 (NLT)
Happiness (Blessed) - Proverbs 3:13, 8:34; Psalm 112, 119:1-2
Long Life - Proverbs 3:16, 8:35
Riches & Honor - Proverbs 3:16, 8:18-21
Peace - Proverbs 3:17 (KJV)
Protection - Proverbs 4:6
Good Judgement - Proverbs 4:7 (NLT); Proverbs 8:12
God's Favor & Approval - Proverbs 8:35
The LORD by wisdom hath founded the earth, by understanding hath he established the heavens. By his knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. [Proverbs 3:19-20 KJV] The LORD formed or created wisdom before the foundations of the earth were created or before creation (see Proverbs 8:22-31)
"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption....." (1 Cor 1:30 KJV)
"God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and he gave himself to purchase our freedom." (1 Cor 1:30 NLT)
The Rewards or Benefits of Belonging To Jesus Christ:
Eternal Life - John 1:4, 14:6
Wisdom - 1 Cor 1:30
Righteousness (Made Acceptable to God) - 1 Cor 1:30 ; John 14:6
Sanctification (Made Pure & Holy) - 1 Cor 1:30
Redemption (Christ Purchased Our Freedom With His Blood) - 1 Cor 1:30
Salvation (Christ Saved or Rescued Us From Sin) - Romans 10:4-13
Grace - (Christ Provides Access To Unmerited Favor/Blessings of God) - John 14:6
Truth - (Christ Provides Access to the Truth of God's Word) - John 14:6
Holy Spirit (Christ Provides Access to the Comforter, Counselor, the One who guides into all truth) - John 16:5-16
Preservation (Protection)
Wholeness (Health or completeness in spirit, mind, body, emotions, finances, family, & all aspects of life balance)
Companionship - Partners in tribulation (suffering) and in the Kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ (in patient endurance) - Rev 1:9 KJV, NLT
Jesus Christ is supreme over all of creation and it pleased God to have all of his fullness resident in Christ. (see Colossians 1:15-20) Thus the fearful and unbelieving would greatly offend God and be justly condemned to the lake of fire (the second death). [Revelation 21:8]
REVELATION 21
(Continued)
Revelation 21:9-10 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb."
(10) and he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusulem, coming down out of heaven from God. [NIV]
One of the seven angels with the most severe and complete judgements of God came to John. Which one of the seven, were not identified specifically. (see Revelation 15:1, 7-8) The pouring out of the seven bowls (vials) by the seven last angels is described in Revelation 16; this caused the inhabitants of earth to curse God.
It was indicated before that....one of the seven angels, who had the seven bowls, had come to John, to show him the fate of the great prostitute (end time Babylon). This could have been the same angel, as mentioned in Revelation 21:9-10, or one of the other seven last angels. In this instance, John was also carried away in the Spirit or transported spiritually, but it was to witness God's judgement of Babylon the Great (the great prostitute). John was taken to a desert; a place of harsh and barren conditions. (see Revelation 17:1-3)
The angel is now transporting John in the Spirit to see the bride, the wife of the Lamb. The Lamb is Jesus Christ. John is traveling in spiritual ectasy, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to an exaulted place on high, a great and high mountain. John was witnessing the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, floating down out of heaven from God. (see Revelation 21:1, 9-10) With the pouring out of the seven last bowls of God's wrath, the destruction of earth, and the final judgement of end time Babylon; nothing of the old earth will remain. God will make all things new, and wipe away all tears.
REVELATION 21
(Continued)
Revelation 21:10, 11-14 [NIV]
(10) And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusulem, coming down out of heaven from God.
(11) It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.
(12) It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel.
(13) There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west.
(14) The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
The Apostle John begins to describe "the Holy City" , "the New Jerusalem". The Holy City exquisitely combines elements of Jerusalem, the Temple, the Garden of Eden, the Twelve Tribes of Israel, the Twelve Apostles, the Twelve Precious Stones (similar to the twelve precious stones of the Priestly Breast Plate), the River of Life, the Tree of Life on both sides of the River bearing twelve types of fruit. (see Revelation 21:2 -----22:5)
The Holy City had such awesome brilliance that the sun , moon, and stars were not needed for light. The glory of God was the light of the Holy City. The brilliance of the Holy City, Jerusalem was described to be like a precious jewel, like a jasper. (Revelation 21:11)
The jasper jewel or stone was the first precious stone listed of twelve stones, decorating the twelve foundations of the city wall. (Revelation 21:14,19-20) John described the wall of the city as being very high, and having twelve gates, that were guarded by twelve angels. On the gates, the names of the Twelve Tribes of Israel were written. (Revelation 21:12)
The positioning of the twelve gates, that contained the names of the Twelve Tribes of Israel, were located by threes, to the east, north, south, and west. (Revelation 21:13) This strategic positioning is similar to the encampment of the Children of Israel while in the Wilderness. This positioning was maintained while in the camp, during travel, and when marching into warfare.
The high wall, in addition to the twelve gates, had twelve foundations. The twelve foundations contained the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb (Jesus Christ). [Revelation 21:14]
The foundations of the city walls were decorated with twelve precious stones (Revelation 21:14, 19-20)
1) Jasper
2) Sapphire
3) Chalcedony
4) Emerald
5) Sardonyx
6) Carnelian
7) Chrysolite
8) Beryl
9) Topaz
10)Chrysoprase
11)Jacinth
12)Amethyst
The Priestly Breast Plate found in the Pentateuch (First Five Books of the Old Testament) contained four rows of precious stones, for making Godly decisions. (Exodus 28:15-28, 39:8-21)
Row 1- Ruby Topaz Beryl
Row 2- Turquoise Sapphire Emerald
Row 3- Jacinth Agate Amethyst
Row 4- Chrysolite Onyx Jasper
There is extensive mention of the number twelve throughout the description of the "Holy City". Number twelve is a holy number, a number representing completeness, and continuity. The linkages and continuity between the New Testament Church (via the Apostles) and the Old Testament people of God (via the Twelve Tribes of Israel), can be seen in the imagery of the Scriptures.
REVELATION 21

Revelation 21:15-17 The angel who talked to me held in his hand a gold mesuring stick to measure the city, its gates, and its wall.
(16) When he measured it, he found it was a square, as wide as it was long. In fact, it was in the form of a cube, for it's length and width and height were each 1,400 miles.
(17) Then he measured the walls and found them to be 216 feet thick (the angel used a standard human measure). [NLT]
The angel who was talking with John took measurements of the city, its gates, and its wall. He used a gold measuring stick to complete his measurements. The dimensions of the Holy City were huge, and in the form of a cube or square. The length, width, and height were the same 1400 miles (12,000 furlongs in KJV; 12,000 stadia in Greek, 2,220 kilometers). [Rev. 21:15-16]
The wall was 216 feet thick (144 cubits in KJV; 144 cubits in Greek, 65 meters). [Rev. 21:17]
A link has been provided to give further insight into the immensity of the Holy City. http://revelation101.blogspot.com/20...jerusalem.html
REVELATION 21
(Continued)
Revelation 21:18-21 The wall was made of jasper, and the city was pure gold, as clear as glass.
(19) The wall of the city was built on foundation stones inlaid with twelve gems: the first was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald,
(20) the fifth onyx, the sixth carnelian, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, the twelfth amethyst.
(21) The twelve gates were made of pearls--each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure gold, as clear as glass. [NLT]
The Apostle John continues to describe the exquisite imagery of "the Holy City", "the New Jerusalem". The wall of the city was made of jasper [Rev. 21:18 NLT] The jasper was first among twelve precious gems, that decorated the foundations of the city wall. The jasper stone is also found on the priestly breast plate described in Exodus. (see post # 107) The city wall was 1400 miles in length, height, and width; and the wall was 216 feet thick. Made with jasper; awesome. (see post # 108)
The city was pure gold. Unimaginable purity, far exceeding our 0.9999 purity standards for gold. Spot price for gold today is $1766/oz and that is down $11/oz since 9/27/12. Just try to imagine the amount of the purest gold in existence that "the Holy City" "the New Jerusalem" will contain. This will make the accumulated wealth throughout the ages seem like poverty.
The wall was built upon foundation stones that were inlaid with twelve precious stones..... [Rev. 21:19] There were twelve foundation stones with the names of the twelve Apostles written on them. [Rev. 21:14] See post # 107 for the twelve precious stones that decorated the foundations of the city wall. [See Rev. 21:19-20]
The number twelve is a holy number, signifying completeness. Jesus Christ is the corner stone of our faith and salvation. [Matthew 21:42; 1 Peter 2:6-8]
The gates, all twelve of them, were made from a single pearl. [Rev. 21:21] The gates were huge. The pearls were of beauty, purity, and of immeasurable value. Twelve angels guarded the gates, and the names of the Twelve Tribes of Israel were on the gates. [Rev. 21:12]
The main street of the city was pure gold. [Revelation 21:21]
REVELATION 21
(Continued)
Revelation 21:22-23 I did not see a temple in the city, because the LORD God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
(23) The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. [NIV]
The Apostle John continued describing the holy city, the New Jerusalem. John stated that he did not see a temple in the city. The Temple was the holy structure built as a dwelling place for the LORD. The first temple built was completed by King Solomon. (1 Kings 6) The Temple was patterned after the Tabernacle (Tent of Meeting). King David's intent was to build the Temple, but God did not allow him, as he was a man of war. (2 Samuel 7:1-17)
Moses had received instructions from the LORD for the building of the Tabernacle, during the wilderness journey of the Children of Israel. (see Exodus 25:8-9; Exodus 26) The Tabernacle was also referred to as the Tent of Meeting. (Exodus 27:21;40:1) After the Tabernacle was completed, the Glory of the LORD filled the Tabernacle. (Exodus 40:33-35)
During the building of the more durable Tabernacle, Moses took a tent outside the camp, and called it the tent of meeting. (Exodus 33:7) This was where the people came to consult with God.
So the fact that there was no temple in the city, may have surprised John initially. However, John sees and notes, that it is because the LORD God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. (Revelation 21:22) Jesus Christ promised to make all things new......a new covenant by His blood, a new heaven and a new earth, and a New Jerusalem.
The Temple of God and the Lamb are more than a building, but encompass relationship with the people of God. The Apostle Paul stated that the people of God are God's temple as His Spirit resides in them. (see 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19; 2 Corinthians 6:16)
The Apostle John also noted that there was no need for the lesser lights of the sun and the moon in the city. The very Glory of God provided the light for the city and the Lamb was its lamp. (Revelation 21:23; John 1:6-14; Hebrews 1:3) Ezekiel described the awesomeness of the Glory of the LORD in his visions of God's glory. (Ezekiel 43:1-4)

Revelation 21:24-25 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their spendor into it.
(25) On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. [NIV]
The Scriptures mention the term walk, walks, walked, walking many times from Genesis to Revelation. To walk is to advance, to move, to actively follow a certain direction, to follow a certain course of life, to accompany someone, to follow a path, to be apart of a particular profession or occupation.
The nations who will walk by the light of the city, are those who have chosen to walk with the LORD God Almighty and the Lamb. (Rev. 21:22, 24) Blessed or happy are those who walk in the light of God's presence. (Psalm 89:15) The Apostle John stated that walking in the light, as the LORD is in the light, would result in fellowship with God and other believers, and purification from sin. (1 John 1:7 NIV)
The kings of the earth who choose to walk with the LORD God Almighty and the Lamb, will bring their splendor and majesty into the holy city. (Rev. 21:24) The Prophet Ezekiel was also a Priest of God. He was among his people that were taken into Babylonian exile. It was there that Ezekiel was called into his prophetic ministry. (Ezekiel 1:1-3, 2---3:15)
Ezekiel's visions and prophesies revealed the grandeur and absolute glory of God. Ezekiel's visions concerning the New Temple Area, included explicit and exact measurements of every aspect of the Temple. The Temple walls, the gateways, the foyers, the outer courtyard, the inner courtyard, the rooms for preparing the sacrificial offerings, the rooms for the priests, the Holy Place, and the Most Holy Place were all measured with precision. [Ezekiel 40-42]
Following the extensive measurements of the New Temple Area, Ezekiel was taken to the gate facing the east. Ezekiel watched as the glory of the LORD entered the Temple through the Eastern Gate. [Ezekiel 43:1-4] Ezekiel was informed that the outer gate facing east must never be opened again, because the LORD had entered the Temple through it. [Ezekiel 44:1-2]
Ezekiel then went on to describe in detail the regulations concerning the prince [the earthly king(s)], the Levites, and the priests; in regards to their entry priviledges to the Temple Area, and their requirements for sacrificial worship. The prince was given great honor, priviledges, and provision; but much was required and expected of him in regards to the sacrificial offering for the LORD. However, the prince was not allowed to perform the priestly role. (see Ezekiel 44---46)
These earthly prince(s) described in Ezekiel were allowed to approach God's Temple, and to bring their earthly splendor before His Presence. So, the kings of the earth who walk with the LORD God Almighty and the Lamb, will bring their splendor and majesty into the holy city. (Rev.21:24)
The outer gate facing the east side of the Temple, was required to remain shut forever, because The LORD God had entered through it. [Ezekiel 44:1-2] There will be no temple in the holy city, the New Jerusalem, because the LORD God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. [Rev. 21:22] The gates of the city will never be shut, for there will be no night there. [Revelation 21:25]
Jesus spoke of the man who walks by day, has light, and will not stumble (fall); he contrasted the one who walks by night. The light signifies purity, righteousness and the night signifies sin. (see John 11:9; 1 John 1:7). Jesus Christ has been made unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption. (1Corinthians 1:30)

Revelation 21:26-27 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.
(27) Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. [NIV]
The glory and honor of the nations, along with the splendor and majesty of their kings, will be brought into the holy city, the New Jerusalem. This will include those who have chosen to walk with God; those who refused to receive the mark of the beast; those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life. [Revelation 20; 21:24, 26-27]

REVELATION 22
Revelation 22:1-2
(1) Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb
(2) down the middle of the street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. [NIV]
Revelation 21 provided the beginning glimpses of the city, the New Jerusalem. Revelation 22 reveals life in the city, and the relationship the redeemed will have with God.
The river spoken of in Revelation 22:1, appears to combine elements mentioned in Genesis 2:8-14 and Ezekiel 47:1-12. "The LORD God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden..........a river watering the garden flowed from Eden........" (Genesis 2:8-10 NIV) Eden is also known as paradise or a place of bliss, delight. The river that watered the Garden of Eden provided life; needed to make the garden grow abundantly with all kinds of trees. Some of the trees brought pleasure by their beauty, and some of the trees were good for food (fruit).
Ezekiel spoke of the water flowing from the New Temple toward the east and becoming a river. The water was life producing. (Ezekiel 47:1-12) Ezekiel's vision of the water flowing from the Temple, was a forshadowing of the river that proceeded (flowed) from the throne of God and of the Lamb. (Revelation 22:1)
The River of Revelation 22 is described as the river of the water of life. The source of the water of life is proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. (Rev. 22:1) John the Baptist identified Jesus as...."the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." (John 1:29) The Apostle John speaks of ".... a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne...." (Rev. 5:6) This Lamb is Jesus Christ.
Jesus spoke to a Samaritan woman about the living water that he gives, that results in eternal life. (John 4:10, 13) Jesus identified himself to the Samaritan woman as "the Messiah". (John 4:25-26)
The river of the water of life flowed down the middle of the street of the city. (Rev. 22:2) The term middle means in the center, central, principal, essential, intervening. In the middle of the Garden of Eden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:9) A Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing in the center of the throne (Rev. 5:6) The very fullness of the LORD God is centered in Jesus Christ, who is supreme above all. (see Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 1:1-14)
On each side of the river of the water of life stood the tree of life. (Rev.22:2) This is singular, as is the tree of life in the Garden of Eden. The tree of life may have qualitites similar to those described in the Banyan Tree of Hawaii, that has roots that cover large areas of land, with the ability to produce multiple trunks, from the one tree.
Ezekiel's vision of the water from the Temple watering a great number of trees on each side of the river, thus causing them to florish and live; foreshadows the life producing water that will flow from the throne of God and the Lamb. (Ezekiel 47:7, 12; Revelation 22:1-2) The splendor and glory of the tree of life in the New Jerusalem, will greatly exceed anything ever seen.
The tree of life in the city, the New Jerusalem will bear twelve crops of fruit every month, or twelve times per year. (Rev. 22:2) The numer twelve is a holy number signifying completeness. In the Garden of Eden, all kinds of fruit trees were made by God; some pleasing to the eye and some good for food. (Genesis 2:9, 16) Ezekiel saw a great number of trees, on both sides of the river, bearing all kinds of fruit every month. (Ezekiel 47:7, 12)
And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. (Rev. 22:2) Adam and Eve were allowed to eat from any tree in the Garden of Eden; this would have included the tree of life, before The Fall (sin) [Genesis 2:8-9, 16]. However, Adam was warned not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. [Genesis 2:9, 17] Adam and Eve were in a state of wholeness before The Fall, as they had access to the tree of life, with the leaves of health (wholeness). Their wholeness reflected their relationship with God.
Ezekiel stated that the fruit of the trees will serve as food and the leaves for healing (Ezekiel 47:12) The prophesy of Ezekiel again foreshadowing the tree of life of the city, the New Jerusalem. Jesus stated....."I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." [John 14:6 NIV]
REVELATION 22
(Continued)
Revelation 22:3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. [NIV]
Curse is defined in various ways. The American Heritage Dictionary defines curse as an appeal to a super natural power for evil to befall someone or something. To invoke evil upon (damn); to bring evil upon (afflict). According to the Merriam Webster's Colegiate Dictionary, 10th ed., a curse is profanely insolent language against someone or something (profanity). They also define curse as a prayer or invocation for harm or injury to come upon someone. These definitions are secular, humanistic in nature and origin.
According to the Scriptures (the Bible), human sin (the fall of Adam and Eve) introduced a curse upon the ground (Gen. 3:17); and death into the experience of mankind and all living creatures. (Gen. 2:17) The fall of mankind by sin is described in Genesis chapter 3. Eve was deceived by the serpent to eat fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil; and Adam committed high treason against God, when he ate the fruit also. (Gen. 3:1-7)
The three basic aspects of all temptation, that can lead to sin are seen in Genesis 3:6. "Eve saw that the fruit of he tree was good for food" (the lust of the body) "and pleasing to the eye" (lust of the eye) , "and also desirable for gaining wisdom" (pride of life) ........... (Gen. 3:16; 1 John 2:16) Satan used these same temptation tactics against Jesus, prior to the beginning of his public ministry. Jesus had been in the wilderness for a total fast for 40 days. Satan brought the temptations to Jesus, but Jesus overcame him with the Word of God. (Lk 4:1-14)
James gives a graphic and clear description of the process involved in life's trials and temptations. This process reveals that choice is involved in one's response to temptation. James starts out by saying when tempted......this makes it clear that all of us face temptation. James instructs do not blame God...... James goes on to describe the process of temptation and the result of choosing to act on temptation.
Temptation (via evil desires) ----> Desire Conceived (births sin) -----> Sin, Full Grown (gives birth to death) [James 1:13-15 NIV] This process is seen at work with Adam and Eve.
Eve saw and was tempted in all 3 basic channels of temptation (via evil desires) ----> she took some of the fruit and ate it; she also gave some to Adam, and he ate also (sin was birthed) -----> The sin introduced cursing of the ground, separation of mankind from God, and death (sin, full grown gives birth to death). [Genesis 3:6-24 NIV]
Sin and death entered the world, as a result of the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. "Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man (Adam), and death through sin.....how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace....righteousness....life through the one man, Jesus Christ." [Romans 5:12-21 NIV] Jesus Christ has been made unto all those who receive him wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. [1 Cor 1:30 KJV]
The Apostle Paul explained that sin was in the world before the law was given. However, death reigned in the world from Adam to Moses, and beyond, even to those who did not sin as Adam, by breaking a commandment. (Romans 5:12-14) The problem with the law was that no one could keep it in its entirety. Paul pointed out that anyone who relies on the law is under a curse. (Galatians 3:10) James clearly indicated why this is the case. "For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles on just one point, is guilty of breaking all of it." (James 2:10)
Paul went on to say that....."Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: 'cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.' " (Galatians 3:13) Jesus Christ has restored access to the tree of life, which will be in the city, the New Jerusalem. No longer will there be any curse. The LORD God Almighty and the Lamb will be in the city. [Revelation 22:3]
The tree of life symbolizes the people of God's total dependence on the creative power of God's Word for spiritual, intellectual, and physical development and life. Jesus is the True Vine and we are the branches (John 15:1-8); the Branch (Zechariah 3:8, 6:12); the Root of Jessie (Isaiah 11:10; Romans 15:12); the Root and the Offspring of David (Rev. 5:5, 22:16); the bread of life (John 6:35); and his words are spirit and life (John 6:63-64)
This link provides a conceptualization of the tree of life with Jesus Christ centralized. It was one of many conceptualizations seen online. http://www.planetpace.com/?tree-of-life,42
REVELATION 22
(Continued)
Revelation 22:4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. [NIV]
The redeemed of the LORD, the people of God, have the promise that they will see his face. Throughout the Old Testament it was stated that no person could see God and live. In ancient times criminals and defectors were forbidden from seeing the face of the king.
The Apostle John stated......"now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is." [1 John 3:2 NIV] The Apostle Paul explained...."Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." [1 Cor. 13:12 NIV]
Seeing God face to face points to a highly intimate relationship. Another aspect of this covenant relationship is seen in God's name being on their foreheads. [Rev. 22:4] A mark or seal in the forehead demonstrates who one belongs to; as seen in "the sealing of the 144,000 [Rev. 7:1-4]. During the Tribulation Period, at the sounding of the fifth angel's trumpet, the scorpion like locust were told to only attack those people, who did not have the seal of God in their forehead. [Rev.9:1-4]
The beast also will have a mark, and all will be required to receive that mark, in order to buy or sell. [Rev. 13:16-17] Angels will proclaim the gospel during the Great Tribulation; warning all not to accept the mark of the beast, either in their hands or foreheads. [Rev.14:9-12] Those end time saints, who refuse to worship the beast, or accept his mark, are promised to reign with Jesus Christ during the 1,000 year Millenium. [Rev. 20:4-6]
Further assurrance of the redeemed saints covenant relationship with God, will be that their names will be found written in the Lamb's Book of Life. [Rev. 20:14-15] "They will see him face to face, and his name will be on their foreheads." [Revelation 22:4] PTL!
REVELATION 22
(Continued)
Revelation 22:5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever. [NIV]
It was mentioned in Revelation 21:25, post #111 above, that......"there will be no more night." Night, a condition of darkness or gloom, a state of grief, a state of moral or intellectual degeneration, death, is to be displaced, dispelled, destroyed by light (life). That......" there will be no more night." is repeated again, here in Revelation 22:5.
In the Holy City, there will be no need for a lamp or even the sun, as a source of light. The Apostle John writes that the Lord God will give them light. John had explained earlier that he saw no temple in the city, as the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. He had also explained that there was no need for the sun or the moon for light, as the very glory of God gave the city light and that the Lamb was its lamp. (see Revelation 21:22-23 and post #110)
The servants of the LORD are promised that they will reign with him forever. [Revelation 5:10, 20:6, 22:5; and Daniel 7:18,27]
REVELATION 22
(Continued)
Revelation 22:6-7 The angel said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true. The Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angel to show his servants the things that must soon take place."
(7) "Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophesy in this book." [NIV]
According to Webster's New Twentieth Century Dictionary, 2nd Edition trustworthy would be trust - to place confidence in; to rely on; to believe in the honesty, integrity, or justice of; to entrust; to commit to one's care; to be confident in; to feel sure of; to expect; to hope............ worthy - having value or merit; deserving praise; valuable; noble; virtuous; well-founded; justifiable; legitmate.
True - is defined as faithful; loyal; constant; reliable; certain; in accordance with fact; in agreement with reality; not false; conforming to an original pattern, rule, standard; exact; accurate; right; correct; lawful; legitimate; real; genuine; authentic.
Thus, the angel is telling John that the words of the book are worthy of trust, and can be relied upon without reserve. The angel also told John that he was sent by the Lord, to show his servants things that must soon take place. (see Revelation 22:6)
Now the time frame of "soon" needs to be kept in context, as time as seen by man differs from God's view of time. Peter explained that.......... "With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day." [2 Peter 3:8; Psalm 90:4 NIV ]
Following the angel's proclamation to John, the Lord Jesus Christ proclaimed, "Behold, I am coming soon" [Revelation 22:7, 12, 20 NIV] Statements made directly by Jesus are recorded in red, in the Red Letter Edition of the Bible. Jesus also stated that those who keep (obey, observe as true) the words of the prophesy of the book (Revelation), would be blessed (happy). (See Revelation 22:7; 1:3)
REVELATION 22
(Continued)
Revelation 22:8-9 I, John, am the one who saw and heard all these things. And when I saw and heard these things, I fell down to worship the angel who showed them to me.
(9) But again he said, "No, don't worship me. I am a servant of God, just like you and your brothers the prophets, as well as all who obey what is written in this scroll. Worship God! [NLT]
John is confirming that he actually saw and heard all the details concerning the coming of the Holy City, the New Jerusalem. John saw and heard the awesome magnificance of the city, the throne of God, and the Lamb of God. He saw and heard about the splendor awaiting the servants of the Lord. (see Revelation 21, 22:1-7)
John was so awe struck and over taken by the things he heard and saw, that he actually fell down to worship the angel that showed him these things. (see Revelation 22:8) The Apostle John was a mature Christian, and considered a pillar in the Church. Yet, he was about to worship an angel, and had fallen down to do so. This was the second recorded instance of John being overwhelmed by the things he was seeing and hearing; and falling down to worship the angel. (see Revelation 19:10)
Angels are looked upon as beautiful, powerful, guardian protectors; sent as divine messengers, divine delivers, agents of covering. Some do worship angels. But here, the angel stops John again, saying......"No, don't worship me. I am a servant of God just like you..............Worship God!" (Revelation 22:9) John was stopped, rebuked, and corrected by the angel in both occurences of attempted angel worship.
The angel emphasized that God alone is to be worshipped.
And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They also sang:
"Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the one sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever." [Rev. 5:13 NLT]
