  3. Re: Been selling for two years, no problem, and then.....

That's a difficult one. I can only answer through gut feeling. For me, the person who has paid for the item in good faith should have their transaction honoured. With regard to the collection, as...

  6. Re: Book selling advice, please re Google Shopping.

On further examination of the books, I can't find any ISBN numbers in them. They are children's books around 50 years old. I guess in the absence of an ISBN number, they can safely be listed as...
  7. Book selling advice, please re Google Shopping.

I wonder if one of the seasoned book sellers may be able to offer some advice?
I have a collection of vintage books from a series of volumes that I wanted to sell as one lot. Normally, when I sell...

Re: International Shipping - Not Known

I also weigh the item and packaging and on the odd occasion I have sold to an international buyer, the postage was spot on. I always quote the cheaper Royal Mail standard international charge, which...

Re: International Shipping - Not Known

As you are willing to sell internationally and have obviously been successful in doing so, is there any reason you are not including international shipping charges in your listings?

    Re: Help, Google Shopping!

I found you too. Google shopping can be a bit erratic sometimes. Most of my stuff gets uploaded fine, the odd one can sometimes go astray. Closing a listing and relisting it sometimes sorts it out.

    Re: Contacting bidders

I suppose in the meantime, you could add a notice to your auction listings, requesting that bidders on more than one of your auctions wait for their last auction to end and that a combined postage...

Sounds like a good idea to me, too.
  15. Re: Right to 30-day refund becomes law in the UK today, 1 October 2015

I currently have a 14 day return policy. Should I be altering this to reflect the new UK legislation? My gut feeling tells me I should? Has anyone else?

    Re: Pinterest

Pinterest is like Facebook without the angst, or the weirdos. I'm sure there are weirdos on there, but it is a lot harder to bear your soul on Pinterest.
You just pin pictures, items, blogs,...

    Re: Making Sales On eBid

The nutshell answer is that you have to find ways of driving traffic here. I recently made the decision to stop selling on TOS. In order to do that,a completely different mindset was required. I am...
  18. Re: Just to clarify for vintage ebid listings for Google shopping

I always leave the brand box blank on my vintage items and just mark them as "Exempt". They usually always get uploaded successfully to Google Shopping. I say usually as the odd one seems to go...
  19. A bit of Bristol history (also of interest to chocolate lovers!)

Many new items across my Rame Retro and Desk Drawer stores, including this lovely vintage Fry's chocolate tin, showing an aerial picture of the Fry's chocolate factory, at Somerdale, Bristol. I...

Poll: Re: Is Front Page Featured Worth Getting?

I've never used it either, so don't feel I can contribute. However, the result of the poll (presumably by those who have used it) may influence whether or not I make any use of it in future.

Re: Anything Else I Could Be Doing?

Patience and hard work is the key with eBid, particularly when you are starting out. Kreative is absolutely right: the first sale is all important. I did quite well here when I joined last year...

Re: Over half a million auctions at last!!!!

  25. Re: Why have i had an invoice for auto-relists charges

I have autoreposts for extra photos as well. If you go to "my fees and invoices" in My eBid, and click on the invoice in question, it should tell you for which posts the charges apply to.

Re: Tell me what sells here and what doesn't

These are valid points. I am merely scratching around for a USP that could be attributed to eBid. eBid IS different to Feebay, but how do you sum it up in a sentence (or two)?

Re: Tell me what sells here and what doesn't

That is SUCH a good question. Discovering the answer would be like alchemy! I experience the same on my own items, but I often get sales eventually. I suspect it is a confidence thing on the part of...
  29. Lovely antique field glasses and lots of other new stuff in stock!

I have been adding new stock across my two eBid stores over the last couple of days. Pride of place goes to these handsome lacquered brass Edwardian field glasses (see attached photos).
