Re: Here we go again! Postage edit time!

I use the bulk edit to change UK, and then International, Postage so it appears on the Ebid sales page. Works fine.

I also have postage for bulk quantities in the description of each item, and I...

  3. Re: How do I avoid Importing Duplicates from eBay

    i see.
Seems there is no flexibility in selecting what you import from Ebay.
I don't import from Ebay because it costs me too much to sell there. My get-around would be to export my listings, load...
  4. Re: How do I avoid Importing Duplicates from eBay

I sell stamps which have different cancellation marks. So I might have six all with the same description, but the image shows they all have different quality, and they have different bid prices. I...
  5. Reporting a whole invoice as missing when lost in the post

Recently a consignment of stamps went missing in the post.
The buyer attempted to report this by clicking on one item, and reporting it through the drop-down menu as missing.
    I saw the report, and...

    UK Postage goes up

UK postage prices going up again.
It could be that tipping point when the cost of posting things becomes too much, and sales drop off.
That happened when I first starting selling books on Ebid 15...

    Re: Support Failure

You could ask support to reinstate what they deleted, if you do not have archive yourself.
Too late for this safeguard, you download a copy of all your live auctions before dealing with an issue of...

    Re: Stamps advice please.

You can still use all 1st class and 2nd class commemoratives, not just Christmas. You could sell others to a stamp seller on Ebid, but they probably wouldn't want more than a few of each stamps...

Re: I really tried to buy from here :(

I agree, I do not understand why there should be inflated P&P. It is immediately obvious and gives the impression the seller is profit-taking, or else grossly inefficient. You don't need to recoup...

Re: General advice for a returning seller

I haven't used Ebay for years, don't need to pay their prices as it would make my items cost too much.

Re: General advice for a returning seller

I would say that you could put lightweight items on international sales, if you can use an "airmail" envelope, otherwise the postage is too much.
My sales all come Ebid and especially repeat...

    Post Office becoming irrelevant?

I went into my local sub-postoffice this morning to buy some 20p stamps.

I post stamp sales abroad and buyers like the bonus of some commemorative stamps on their envelope. So, 1st class...
  13. Re: Anybody Having Problems With Buyers Addresses

I always use the Ebid address from the packing slip, but I check whether it is the same address as Paypal. On the odd occasion it is not, I send a message asking for confirmation of address before...
  14. Re: To all those that say nothing sells here

That is my experience. 4145 sales in 2023, but that was 10% of what I had listed.

Re: "How I succeeded on Ebid"

Yes postage rates are a killer, so selling items that are low in weight helps. Paypal allowed me some time ago to use micro-payment rates which are low at first and then rise steeply. I don't know...

    Re: IOSS number

I think that IOSS is about being able to declare VAT on goods going to the EU.
If you are not liable for VAT then you do not need IOSS

    Re: PayPal alternatives

BACS is an EFL, just like Paypal is an EFL

Here in the UK I would be afraid of a footballer arriving at my door as EFL is usually English Football League

    Re: PayPal alternatives

Yes, I am nervous about giving bank details to strangers, but Nationwide say it should not be a problem.

Re: "How I succeeded on Ebid"

Postage costs are key. You stand a chance with anything lightweight.
Once you are sending a parcel people are sensitive about cost

Re: New Royal Mail charges from Oct 2023
