I don't know if this has been metioned before but what about creating a squidoo page about your items, listings ebid in general.

I've made a 'lens' as squidoo call it. it's a bit basic for now...

You could explain to the seller and ask them to let you know when they dispatch it, that will give you an idea of when roughly it might arrive. I tend to drop a note to buyers on the day I pop items...
