Thumbs up Promotion, its in your interest

Promotion is in your own interest

People say they are moving from feebay to eBid because of the increasing fees charged there, then some go on to complain that there is little advertising here, not true by the way, but don’t they realise that their high fees go to pay for high profile advertising. I understand that people are only trying to help but things are a little different here, this site does not generate the millions of $'s the other one does.

Sellers who sell a lot over there must surely keep a record of who they have sold to? Email or post flyer's to them and let them know you are here. Use the affiliate options and eBid logos and merchandise that’s available here. Its in your business interest to promote your business whatever eBid do to advertise the venue. Check out this search result for promotional ideas:

Look what extra you get for one lifetime membership from zero listing fees to small enhancement fees you decide, Fees that only kick-in if an item sells, a choice of Google pppay or Paypal checkouts, all are your decisions and not dictated to by the venue. Dedicated site owners that have a track record of listening to its members and acting where ever possible, a help center that works and an open forum that’s not overly policed.

Ebid has everything going for it, where eBay has nothing to recommend it!

Surely its also in the companies interest? Perhaps they should consider charging even a small pecentage per final auction fee, say 1% to be used for promotional purposes. In the long run it will be better.

I have also done the above. However as any shop knows you need footfall. At the moment I cant afford to close my account on ebay as I sell roughly 300 items per month. The same things are listed here and I sell only a few. I long for the day I shut my ebay account down and I'm sure ebid will become a seriousl alternative. Unfortunaly I think it is going to need somebody like google to buy this site and give it some financial strength.

It can make good financial sense to maintain a presence on other sites and many of the sellers here do just that. They are also doing their bit to encourage traffic to this site, treating this as a long-term but worthwhile proposition.

I hope that things go well for you.

I've seen this suggested 100's of times re alternative auction sites, & I don't understand why.
Google is still Corporate America, the same as Feebay, why does everyone believe that they would treat people any better than feebay do, the bottom line for them will still be shareholder profit.

Thanks, I just wish to end my business with ebay and sell through here. I have sold 5 items in total this week by directing customers here now. So pretty happy with that!

Shoulld not knock em just because they are American. Google just seem to do things right with Google Checkout, Web search & Gmail for example. I just wish for ebay to fall on its sword and if it means Americans buying this site and keeping the current model, then I'm more than happy about that. Ebay used to be good and enjoyable, but their rapid decline seems to have happend when they paid stupid money for Skype.

And along those lines...if eBid was to be bought out by "big corporate," guess what will happen to our little piece of cyber space...yup, another ::shudder:: EBAY!!!
