it's not bright and sunny here it wet and soggy and mike legs have stared off again i was up dressing them at 1 am so i am now going to re dress have a good look at them and then i thing ringing the surgery is in order to warn them i am going to report the lot of them to PALS, i am now getting sick of this and i am also not the NHS personal bank, £90 odd ££s for pads for his legs and that is just this week never mind all the other stuff i have already bought, sorry for moan but i am not happy

the surgey send the surgery nurse out who give's him a tube of cream, i have put his legs up high and told him to keep still to see if i can stop them myself, at least i am consistent with what i do, if they havent stopped by 4 or 5 pm i am on the phone, it's now both legs and not just one, GP,s dont come out and our GP knows nothing about leg ulcers, not calling him for not knowing at least he admitted it a few years back but then again i have healed the ulcers myself it now a clear fluid and it pongs funny, well sod this i am now having a sit down, i have put the recycling in the trolley boxes so they are ready for tomorrow ( without breaking any of my body parts this time

Surely you should not be paying for dressings yourself. Can they not bring some or give you a prescription?

No I shouldn't the last nurse that came came in waving one pad, used one i had and took the one she brought back with her, I shouldn't be changing dressings either, the last prescription they did was for compression stockings and they sent the wrong size, just tutted and said well we cant change them now so again i had to buy more, i have now managed to stop one leg from leaking and now working on the other one.

You are obviously unlucky with your district nurses. I have nothing but praise for the nurses here.

I'm so sorry to hear of the problems you are having with District Nurses, buttons. I think the situation varies from area to area. My husband's aunt was most dreadfully neglected in London.

Similar problems up here - I coped with things but it felt like you were continually banging your head against a brick wall -
you feel so angry and tired and somehow helpless
