Maybe, now that the Hobbit film is staying in New Zealand, the Sarge was hoping for a remake of "Whisky Galore" ? Shame that the special effects team appear to have overdone it!

Good morning all. I have just managed to send my first text message ever!!!
We'll be out all day and this was to remind son to look in on his granny or she'll be starving by the time we come back.

The incident that the book was based on happened on the Hebridean island of Eriskay when the islanders plundered the wreck of the S.S. Politician for its cargo of whisky. They changed the name of the island in the film (can't remember to what).

No, you HOPE it would be Kpte. Meebo. In practice, my poor aide-de-camp is so overworked that we have to outsource the sewing on of stripes. It's usually done by Kimbo - she's remarkably handy with a staple gun but does insist that the uniform is being worn before starting to secure the stripes.

I think a remake of 'Whiskey Galore' using the Isles of Scilly and starring Sergeant Major Cornish might have quite an impact Captain Jewels ma'am !



Now I'm pleased to hear that Private Meebo has mastered modern technology at last ,which is more than I have done !
