I remember those days too. I am only pleased that this house has as much insulation as OH was able to give it. I am now going to have a siesta as I took a painkiller before lunch and now I can hardly keep my eyes open

Time for a nap...lots of stock to add but too zonked
Errmm - Watch out Sarge, he's up to summat!
I also remember the frozen windows - we used to heat pennies and put them onto the window to make spy-holes!
I can also remember having my grandfathers WW1 army greatcoat spread over my bed to keep me warm in the severe winters we had back then, when snow drifted over the fields and buried the windows and doors! (This was in Stoke, not here).
It's been a lovely day here in Suffolk, lots of sunshine and very mild. The crocus are blooming, and lots of the spring bulbs are about to burst into flower.
Doncha just love it when Spring is in the air?

As a kid we lived in a prefab that during the winter was basically a fridge! Net curtains stuck to windows, water in budgies cage frozen solid ! Only heating was a coal fire in the living room and a parrafin heater in the bathroom (Only at bath times). I remember the winter of 62/63 the water in the hot water bottles froze in the beds overnight. I remember also having a great coat over my bed it was the one my dad had when he was in the Homeguards. He was a miner so a reserved occupation.
Having read this back it reminds me of this old TV sketch
Trish - I remember much the same just south of you in Stoke. I lived in Rugeley then. As well as the snow drifting, I remember the Trent flooding when it all melted.
Annie was so glad that you managed to get kettle on as needed when got back from dog walk was very thick fog walking with dog suddenly as dog would appear out of the gloom, but am pleased to say sun at last.
Have done my relists but none for somer so am worried.next job is scanning.
Sgt hope you enjoy your fizz you could do just what you wanted without being disturbed.
What a lovely sunny day it makes the parade ground look so much more inviting. Can't wait to get down to Cornwall tomorrow to be by the sea !
Expecting a parcel delivery so have to hang around for that and then ... erm, cough, cough, might have to take another little trip to the P.O. ! Totally not my fault as a past customer from my own website broke his item and seemed to think he could come here to eBid to replace it !

A very late good morning! OH needed my PC to write a letter. Sunshine here too, but it certainly was frosty this morning. 'Our' fox was visiting. He certainly is not shy as he could see me watching and he didn't seem to care. Only when I went outside did he jump over the fence into next door's garden. I have developed another pain - this time it is the right knee. I think it is again a ligament as the pain is like the one I had in the right knee. Well, I have done nothing today so far and will probably continue to do same for the rest of the day
