Default What puts Buyers and sellers of Ebid?

I've had my thinking cap on and I wonder if this is Worth G & M Thinking about.
One of the reasons I think puts people off Ebid is the fact they have to strat with Zero Feedback. So G and M Did it with Yahoo so Why cant they do a Cross feedback promotion from Thiefbay? If a User over there wants to sell on here then transfer there feedback to here?
    What you lot think?
And any other ideas as to why this sites not a popular as it really should be? ITS FREE TO LIST!!! Thats the biggest plus for me! They could even charge the same FVF as Thiefbay if they wanted but thats the thing that gets me is the Listing charge! Hate listing anything over there that then does not sell.....and you get charged for it.

I think the main problem is fear of the unknown. People feel safe with the larger website (why I can't imagine, but there you go).

The main difference with the feedback situation you suggest is that the Yahoo site had gone out of business; whereas the other site is still around and as territorial as they have ever been.

The only thing I can suggest is for us to post on such sites as www.powersellersunite.com and put the word out.

    .
It use to be possible to transfer feedback but then I believe FeeB*y put a stop to it, not sure how but I know when I joined here it had just been stopped shortly before.

The darkside DO NOT allow the feedback you "earn" there to be transferred to any other site it’s in their T+C.

I don't think that the feedback is really the problem. I think it is just the massive head start in terms of familiarity and, to a diminishing extent, the number of items available. I really think that we all have to keep plugging on at the many and various publicity/marketing efforts. I am currently bidding my buddy points on pens which I will give to Cats Protection RL fundraisers to sell at boot sales. Does that count as a good idea?

    Just an idea:-
Think if everybody can manage to buy one 'small' thing from
a newbie it would inspire everybody and give their feedback
a kick start. I did this the other day I bought a small item
from someone with '0' feedback and she was so delighted
to get her first sale and the item I bought was lovely. It would
help retain the sellers that have just arrived until the site
    really starts buzzing!

Its very difficult to get your brand name into peoples heads with limited resources , every man an his dog has heard of Feebay.
Even bad publicy gets the name in peoples heads , maybe we need a good scandel.
Even telling my regulars i sell cheaper on here doesant seem to work its like your weekly shop people who go to sainsburys will always go there.
I would love to give up on the darkside, but being full time its not on at the momment , more the pity.
