Both .177 and .22 Air Pellets

Of course they are. They are for sale in hundreds of places and there ar no laws against selling them anywhere in the UK, either over the counter or by mail order, provided the buyer meets the age conditions.

EBid is the only place they are banned, along with CO2 for soda syphons/emergency tyre inflators etc etc.

Now, if you want to sell illegal OEM software though, you have come to the right place :-)

Unfortunately there’s the rub…. Short of asking for proof of age (i.e. birth certificate, passport, driving license etc) how do you know the person who bought them from you meets the age conditions. Unless you have proof of age you are open to prosecution under the law.

OEM software is now a reportable/banned item... and will be removed IF reported

How about a Paypal Account or payment by credit card ? There's your age issue solved :-)

agreed (sort of) but unfortunately it is open to abuse.... I think eBid are playing the " better safe than sorry" card which in some ways I cant blame them....

you only need one sale to an under aged person (however carefull you try to be) and the whole site could be closed down if it is reported.... and lets face it trading standards do check off licence / supermarkets with the bozze laws by using under age buyers, they could do the same sort of thing with online sites.... we might not like it but I think it's better to "loose" a few sales rather than the whole site

When it suits them, EBid pull the 'Its only a venue, the seller is responsible' line'. So why not in this case ?

Airgun pellets, unlike airguns can be sold by anyone, and shop, any establishment in the UK (except ebid). It is the sellers legal responsibility to take the necessary steps to verify the age of the buyer, if the product requires it (as airgun pellets do). EBid banning the sale of things like this is utterly ridiculous. They also banned CO2 cartridges as, according to support, they are a 'firearm' despite being used for putting fiz in drinks and inflating tyres. The fact that they can also be used in certain air rifles/pistols makes them a 'banned item' as far as ebid is concerned.

That's one of the reasons this place is full of sellers and devoid of buyers.
