Default Nearly giving the stuff away and nobody buys

    Hi Everyone

I sell firesteels on a daily basis on ebay at a much higher price than I have them listed on ebid, so can someone please tell me why even at a £1 auction price on ebid, no one buys them here.

    Something wrong somewhere I think.

    Rob

Just a suggestion, why not let your existing/previous customers know that you have them available here cheaper?

this is not ebay there is nowhere near as much traffic , you need to promote yourself a little , have a read through these threads , remember ebay started with little cash so is ebid , promote yourself and we all gain

http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=100837 getting started a few tips
if you run a website or a simple webspace eg: myspace etc. drop a ebid search box into it
    http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=94751 (it`s simple even i did it )
    http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=95311 get ebid logo`s etc.
http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=95239 add ebid search to your browser
http://helpdesk.ebid.net/showthread.php?t=101126 scrolling pictures of your auctions
escrow srvices this is uk based and 100% genuine http://auctionchex.com/escrow-s.html

    escrow fees see here
    http://auctionchex.com/efees-s.html

remember you need to do this to get your items onto google
Google doesn't accept items that are auction only, they have to have a BuyNow price, but they can have an auction price as well.eBid upload ALL eligable items to google products 3 times a month,To qualify for uploads items need to be:
    1) Legal
    2) have a BuyNow price
    3) Have at least 7 days remaining OR are On First Bid OR are Run Until Sold at 5am on the 8th, 18th and 28th of each month

i use mostly run until sold with bin price
    for exporting fb use http://auctionfb.com/
you can add your signature to emails using your buddy point link (from myebid) click on buddy points
scroll down and copy paste to your email signature
also add the buddy points signature to your auction descriptions has someone may click your link through google it will give them incentive to join and buy tell them it is free to join

I would try to help - if I knew what a 'firesteel' actually was?

Maybe other people don't know either?

It's survival equiment isn't it? For lighting fires without matches.

I'm looking for some for my husband who's into all that stuff - but you've posted without anything in your signature, and I can't see your shop or listings.

I'd VERY much like to buy something like that for £1 lol.

Well, I just found your auctions, and they start at £4.00, so not quite the bargain as stated above, it's your postage that costs £1.

I've actually put a bid on an American one that's also got a tinder woodblock with it, for the same price (I think he's had a bit of an eBay-leaving fit to be honest, and I'm going to offer to pay some postage on it, because his inclusive price is less than £5, which seems a bit too cheap). Sorry.

I wish you all the best; may I ask, do you use decent key words for people who don't search using the term 'fire steel' or 'firesteel'? I mean, it's a substitute for matches, lighters and flint isn't it?

How many listings do you have on eBay? I know eBayers say the more listings you have, the better your sales - so, how many do you have over there in comparison to over here?
