Thread: Made my first Ebid sale today!

  1. #1

Default Made my first Ebid sale today!

Tatty would like to let everyone know that after 6 weeks, he's made his first sale. As such, he's now a happy little bear because he's covered his one month seller+ fee, although he's not overly optimistic about the future and is keeping his paws firmly on the ground.

He's got quite a lot of stuff up for sale, but still very few people are looking.

He also knows the search facility on eBid is very pants to put it mildly, and thinks this is probably impacting on his footfall. . .or pawfall as he calls it.

Congratulations on the sale TattyTeddyscave though sadly I have to say I'm afraid your prices are not really competitive. I don't know what your margins are, but buyers need to be attracted if you are going to make a success of selling those sort of products in a very competitive market.

    Don't tempt me!

However, there's no excuse for the search engine generating many of the results it does when more than adequately narrow parameters have been fed in to it.

If feeBay had eBid's search engine, it would've died on its backside years ago.

£9.99 free p&p original collected by my son from a trek convention and he still made a couple of quid on it

I've got my profit on each item down to a level where anything less just isn't worth the effort. The prices of my SD cards and blank/recordable DVDs are pretty decent. My dual layer blank discs are cheaper than sellers on feeBay sell them for.

If I'm only expected to make 10p profit per item, I might as well give up now. Unless footfall on here increases to the point where selling at 10p profit is actually viable due to a huge surge in my sales, my prices will have stay as they are.

Impossible, unless he obtained it at dealer rates. If he obtained it as a paying member of the public, Beltran charges at least £15 at UK signing events. And I bet your photo was NOTHING like mine.

Your pricing is your own decision, I was just making an observation, if I as a committed eBidder is reluctant to buy at your prices isn't that an indication as to why you may be finding sales slow. I appreciate it has to be worth it, so ask if you are selling the right thing. In a highly competitive field margins will always be wafer thin, if you don't consider it worth it then try and find a different product range with better margins, or a cheaper supplier.
