    Default Refund Policy

    Can you advise.

    How does the law stand with refund policies?

    I purchased something from a seller that offers a 7 day refund policy.

    The item arrived but I was not happy with the item. I contacted the seller straight away asking for a return address so that I could send the item back for a refund.

    The seller has responding saying that no refunds will be given.

    I have pointed out the her t&c state she will give a refund and she is in breach of her on t&c's..

    How does the law stand on this one. Time is running out for my 7 days, so would appreciate as much help as possible...

    it all depends...
    are they registered as a business... in which case the distance selling laws come into play.

    is the item faulty.... in which case the faulty items law come into play

    do you not like the item, was it as discribed, was the person registered as a private seller

    Hiya

    it was a private seller. I do not like the item as it was for a gift and the quality was terrible. fit for the bin!!

    Not sure if registered as a private seller, but guess so as not a business one

    If the t's & c's said a 7 day refund policy, you need to read the full policy to see if there are any "get out clauses"

    However, if I was the seller and you were not happy with the purchase, I would give a full refund once the goods have been sent back, I would do this just to keep the peace and provide a service that I would like to get.

    Without knowing what the exact t&c's are I find it hard to advise, do you have a transaction (auction ID) to look into it and then give more accurate advice.

    Was this something specially made or personalized?

    Can you post an item number?


    Think it's really bad if they are saying the do no accept returns but on the auction they do.

    You could maybe email support to see if they have any advice for you!
