Thread: Pay pal now charging buyers?

  1. #1

Default Pay pal now charging buyers?

    Hi
I had a transaction fall through, one of those things. I used pay pal to pay for the item, the seller refunded me by pay pal but it appears I have been charged a transaction fee on the refund, as I have never had refunds or accepted paypal as a method of payment is this right?

    No & yes

What I think you will find is that the seller has sent you funds rather than hitting the refund button, so because the seller has done this then you will be charged a transaction fee.
If the seller had done it the correct way and done it via hitting refund then you would not have been charged any fees.

    Hope this helps

Thats exactly what I was going to say - it has happened to me before now so I am very careful when it comes to any refunds.

Actually, I had to refund a buyer and they were charged. I opened up the payment theyd sent me pressed refund & they only got some of the refund as they were charged too. Not good really is it, You get charged as a seller and when you refund someon their own dosh they get charged for having their money back
