Thread: # of Views.......

  1. #1

    Exclamation # of Views.......

I just listed a brand new listing a little while ago. Within minutes, it already had over 50 views!! Any idea how this happened? I listed a few more as well, and it didn't happen to those. Any idea what's going on?

OH, and any news if Google Base is up and working yet??? I've tried so many times w/the Google Base Store connector & nothing is happening so far.

    Thanks

I tend to ignore the views column, as they seem to be bit erratic

    Thumbs down

The views counter was fairly consistent before October 2008, but then something changed, and now the views counted have dropped by an average of 80% , with a few auctions getting ridiculously high counts . What is more worrying is that the counts can now go down , as well as up!

I agree that the counters are now unusable, which is annoying, as I successfully used them to monitor my auctions for nearly 3 years!

Gazza, please can you fix this quickly?...........hollandnumerics

It's the truth but a very large understatement, LOL!

I have emailed Support and will post any answer I receive, in the other thread, entitled "Another viewing figure shot up overnight"

It is a shame - I have found the viewing figures quite comforting (even though no-one has bought anything) and mine don't seem too outrageous to me (I've had none of these really silly numbers appearing as others have) - but now I'm not so sure..... Maybe I shouldn't believe them after all.

What annoys me are the number of items with zero views on them, when you know for a fact people have looked at them!

I don't think zero views on a lot of items does Ebid any good either... makes it look like the site is not regularly visited. I know the old argument of well, it makes the buyer think they have spotted the item first, but hey, when there are LOADS of items with no views on them, it works against both Ebid and the seller I think.

Agree, which is why I wish ebid would make views only available to the seller of the item.
