Thread: Going Along with the eBid baby Theme... What was YOUR favourite Children's programme?

  1. #1

Default Going Along with the eBid baby Theme... What was YOUR favourite Children's programme?

We didn't have a TV until I was Eight.... we got one to watch the Coronation and to be the FIRST in our road to have one .. Everyone piled in to watch the small screen with a Large Magnifying Glass over the top to make the screen look bigger . I fell asleep as I can remember the whole procedure of crowning the Queen lengthy and incomprehensible. I was impressed with the crown and clothes though

When I was small I used to "Listen with Mother" on the radio ( Or Wireless as we called it then) with my Grandma
Even at eight I enjoyed Muffin The Mule and The Flowerpot men ....we were still children and very easily entertained in those days

We didn't get TV till I was 10 and I can't remember any children's programs I particularly liked. Loved watching 77 sunset strip (I wish they would show this, as I would love to compare the original with the dubbed version)and the avengers
I loved watching Jackanory and Blue Peter when I came to England. It improved my vocabulary no end

I was born and raised in Thailand...so my favorites were Indian movies.. where they danced and sang throughout most of the movies. I also remember getting into Sesame Street when we moved to Singapore. Then it became Chinese action movies. I guess I was just a well rounded kid. lol

I never even knew there was a Dr. Who show when I was a kid.As a matter of fact, I thought it was a new show when I got to watch several segments of it a year or two ago. But then again, I guess it wasn't something that caught enough Asian attention to air there in Asia back when I was growing up.

A neighbour was the the first where we lived to get TV and I remember watching a bit of the coronation on it. The aerial was a huge affair on a pole, for kids TV I can vaguely remember Huw Wheldon and "All Your Own" a few years later in 1950's
