Thread: 10 days. Is this long enogh to wait for payment?

Default 10 days. Is this long enogh to wait for payment?

Title says it all. Is 10 days enough time to wait?

Buyer knows how to use AAL as they marked as payment sent last Tuesday but will not reply to emails or questions on AAL

Do you have any other reason to assume "will not" rather than "cannot"? They might have been hit by a bus on the way to post your cheque!

That said, yes I think 10 days is enough if you've made every effort to make contact, as you appear to have done.

I'd start the NPB procedure. If they have had an accident or something, it can always be reversed later.

Yes I get that about the accident etc as that is possible or if they have become ill, I know this can occur as I am a bad luck person.

The aal (25/02/09) does say though Postal order sent this morning.

I've had several people tell me they mark the AAL (or site equivalent) when they're heading out to the PO... I've always said that sounds like tempting fate!

    What's his/her feedback like?
I'd start NPB procedure and as Kimbo says it can always be reversed, if payment arrives and/or there is any communication.

If there's already a neg in there, I'd defenitely go ahead with NPB process. Non performing sellers don't normally leave neg fb.

I had one a while ago; 100% positive, been a member for a couple of years - non payment. After about 3 messages, I sent him a "final one" with wording something like, it has now been 2 weeks and if I don't hear from you within 48 hours, I am afraid you don't leave me any choice, but to report this as an unpaid item. Got a message back within hours saying, the letterbox he'd posted the cheque in had been set alight and he assumed that was why it hadn't got to me with a promise to post another one next morning. Waited another week with nothing. Eventually left a neg fb and went through the NPB procedure. After I was the first one to do so, they started to pour in and the member in question was suspended.

Ah, the old "post box was set alight" excuse. I had a seller use that once with me...

... but luckily my item had already been collected, eh Sarah?

Its amazing the disasters that happen between buying an item and paying for it , dangerous buisness buying online.
