Question i don't want to use a reserve price

I have some listings on buy it now which i want to move to the auctions at a lower starting bid price.

when i put the starting price in and remove the reserve price of 0.00 and try to save the listing I get the following error message:

Editing ErrorReserveThe reserve price of an auction is the minimum price at which you are willing to sell an item. This must be greater or equal to your starting price and less than a BuyNow price (if you choose one).
Click back to return to the edit page

The thing is my items are photos, keyrings postacrds, etc and i don't want to use a reserve price for small items. I have tried leaving the 0.00 in the reserve box and removing it and no matter which I try I still get the same message.

I have been doing this exact same thing for several weeks now and this is the first time ebid won't let me change my listings from buy only to bid and buy

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

Set the opening bid price. Then tick the "no reserve" box, which will set the reserve price as the same as the opening bid price. This effectively means there is no reserve.

Where is the 'no reserve box'?
Its not next to the space for an auction reserve price on my screen

I think there's some confusion between the selling form, and the edit form here. As I understand it, you're trying to edit an existing listing - and the above box doesn't exist on there.

If you've been doing this successfully and it's just stopped working, it sounds like one to report to support. I had something similar on Friday when trying to edit a Dutch Auction - warnings about buy now prices that I hadn't set and hadn't changed.

    This is no reserve

The amount in the reserve box must equal the starting bid

Hollywood, I had the identical problem a short time ago and it almost drove me to despair. Finally I looked into "My Defaults" and set up a brand new default listing with No Reserve carefully checked.

Then I went to set up a real listing and made sure to POPULATE it from the default form. After that I changed the partiiculars such as description and price and weight, etc., to what was appropriate for the new listing. That fixed things! Hope I've communicated this clearly so that it's helpful.

EDIT: my procedure above will work for a new listing, not for editing an existing one. You might have to close your existing item and start it fresh.

The OP merely needs to put an amount identical to the starting bid into the reserve price box - it cannot be zero

I had a similiar experience as well. It seemed like if I made too many changes it had a problem. I just edited a couple of times to get my desired changes.

thanks to everyone who has helped. the answer is to put in a reserve price at the same amount as the starting bid - I have never come across this before but it works and that's all that matters

    thanks again all
