    I'm curious as to how the view numbers are counted?
    If thats a widget cash cow, I'm getting me one of those!

    I am no expert but it sure looks like the stuff that GIs brought back from Japan after WWII. That same feel and look. That might fit the age you indicated. And consider, it might be even older if it was old when your family got it!

    The Kovel's site might be another place to get info too. The monthly newsletter also has a page on identifying various items.

    Hi. first of all I am definatly no expert but I have a few Oriental pieces and I think your vase is Japanese.
    The rule I use to date pieces is that if the piece has Made In and then the country it dates from around 1945 until present date.
    If it has just the country then it is between 1890 and 1945.
    If it has a stamp mark or writing in the origenal language or no mark at all then it is pre 1890.

    I am happy for anyone to correct this as I am working from memory hear but this is what I use when buying a new piece.

    Japanese Satsuma from probably around 1910-20. Not a good example and worth little.
