    Everything is fine on IE8
    A couple of points,
    What is "Gold-filled Chain" ?
And if it is what I think it is,
What is the outer made of ?
What is the weight of the item ?
Do you have a picture of the Hallmark ?
What is the design of the chain called ?
What is so special about "Black Hills Gold ?

    The Picture looks good,
    The description looks boring.

    Center everything, especially the headings.
List all the good points, on their own lines.
don't put them all on the same line.

    Add a bit of colour

Hi islandbuckman..you really have some beautiful items. Good luck to you. Hope sales pick up for you..like to see you stick around.. Be sure to list some of them in the "plug your auctions" thread. You can post one time everyday.

I'm really puzzled by this. I tried again on IE7. It's up on another screen and I'm looking at your "All About the Seller" page as I type this on FireFox. I see a scenic picture labeled "pei cliff", your logo, and a map. Not a red X anywhere.

The people who aren't seeing the picture are all in the U.K. Does Microsoft have different versions for different continents?

Hello, I had a quick look at some of your listings. The common mistakes that a number of sellers on eBid make include inadequate descriptions and poor quality photos. Your listings do not have any of those problems and it is easy to understand what is for sale. Your products look really nice. I do not know how busy the Canadian eBid site is but I would suspect that low sales activity might be due to the fact that although the visitor traffic to eBid has gone up a lot in the last 12 months, there is still quite a way for it to go for this to be a site on which sellers can earn their livings without using other sales channels. It might be helpful to have some terms and conditions of sale so that potential buyers know about refund policy, etc.. Best Wishes, Robert

I chose one of your listings at random, so I hope it's representative of your normal style. This one: http://uk.nine.ebid.net/perl/auction...216&mo=auction because I liked the cute bee.

I've no idea on price, because I don't really buy this sort of stuff, but it's certainly an attractive necklace.

With somebody selling attractive decorative pieces I was expecting a nicely templated listing with good use of layout and was a bit surprised to find just black text "dumped" on the page (sorry, if you spent ages planning the layout, it just doesn't look like it!)

I find the use of exclamation marks a bit Tiggerish. Fine if you were selling jokes or toys or other funny items, but not on smart jewellery.

I'd like a little more info' on the listing about guarantees, packing & shipping and what your returns policy is. There didn't seem to be any effort to reassure me that I could safely send you my money.

I'd also like to see "gold-filled" or any other jargon explained on the listing, please? Or at least a link straight to a glossary.

I did see you had a *lot* of useful and informative stuff on your "about me" page, which is great. But (you knew there was a but, eh? ) it's again very Tiggerish and rather messily put together. It's perhaps irrational to expect decorative item to be beautifully presented, but I'd rather get that "browsing around Tiffany's showroom" feeling when look at such items than "rummaging through a box".

    I hope that's helpful!!

I can see those images fine too. It's at the bottom of the page under the FAQ's where the empty image boxes are !

The image links point to the sellers hard drive.

Noticed some members having problems 'seeing' pictures on the OP's listings - and see a box with a red cross in it instead. This may be a problem with those members' Internet Explorer settings. Go to Internet Options/Advanced and scroll down to Multimedia. Ensure that 'Show image download placeholders' is NOT checked, and that 'Show pictures' IS checked. Then click OK to save and exit. That should take care of the problem.

Nothing wrong with the listings. It's just the very bottom of the about me page that the seller has set up that has the image problems. The top bit of the page by eBid (where the map is) is also fine.

VERY nice jewelry! The only thing I noticed is that you only offer PayPal to your buyers. Have you considered also offering Google Checkout? I think offering more than one way to pay for their purchase(s) would be a great addition.

While looking at several of your listings I kept noticing the statement about a free 'white leatherette case" with each purchase...might not be a bad idea to have a stock pic of that also...couldn't hurt!

    Best of luck to you!
