How many of you don't wash your hair?

I know, first reaction is yuk!

Last Friday I remarked to my hubby that his hair just lately has been looking really nice and it's so soft. Knowing that there's no different products in the bathroom I wondered why? Apparently, he hasn't washed it for about 6 weeks as his best mate told him he hadn't washed his in years and his hair always looks in good condtion.

I've been reading about this on the internet and apparently hair is self-cleaning. Thought I'd give it a go. Day 3, got up this am, lasted till 20 minutes ago, couldn't bear it any longer so now I'm sitting with a towel on my shoulders waiting for the colour to set, before I wash it.

Anyone else not wash their hair?

The only time my hair gets shampoo on it is when I put some colour on it, which is probably about twice a year.

So....here is one that doesn't wash their hair. I learnt about how the hair is self cleaning several years ago which is when i stopped washing my hair...must have saved a fortune in shampoo

i have heard of that before- i'm sure it was a tv programme a few years ago. after so long without shampooing -it doesnt look greasy anymore.
must admit though- if i leave mine more than a day i feel really grubby and horrible so dont think i could manage it.

I have heard that somewhere before about not washing hair. I think a lot depends on environmental factors. If you live by the sea etc? not really sure. We have been programmed in so many ways by advertisers but personally I find if I leave my hair for 2-3 days I start getting uncomfortably So I wash it.
Its the same advertising trick they use with TOOTHPASTE In the adverts you always see a FULL brush...WHY? I find if you use just a 1/4 of he paste needed then it cleans perfectly well.

What's the condition of your hair like after not washing? Mine's really dry and is self-coloured about every 6 weeks to cover the greys.

I have to wash mine every morning just to keep it in control !!! You should see it when I wake up in the morning it's sticking up at all sorts of strange angles - not a pretty sight !
I do have a friend however who is a doctor and he hasn't washed his hair for years and it always looks really good !
