Column L I would like 5% GST added for cost and shipping all Canadian buyers the code I have used is "ca:5.0:Y" can you confirm that this is the corect code for Canada?

Our preference is to use Fixed Price. The instuctions suggest that for Fixed Price Column L should be left blank. I think this is incorrect because we still need to collect sales tax on all sales to canadians but not buyers from other countries. So we have ignored the leave it blank instructions and put the GST tax numbers in this column.

Any advice?

The explanation of L column is not very clear.
1. Column L
Sales Tax. If you are a US or Canadian eBidder you can use this column to add any sales tax that is due and the state (2 letter abbreviation) that it will be due in. You can choose whether to add tax to the shipping costs also.
CA:7.5:Y In this example the tax will be applied to sales to California at 7.5% and WILL be applied to shipping costs also.
NB:0.5:N In this example the tax will be applied to sales to New Brunswick at 0.5% and WILL NOT be applied to shipping costs also.
2. If your choice is Fixed Price, you to enter price at this column and mark "Fixed Price".
